My old man used to do exactly the same but now I have got wise to it so I wrap up cans of Special Brew and tell him not to touch them because they are for the kids - it works every time. Merry Crimbo!

Tell her the truth. And tell her that you regret it so much and you wont do it again. (i so hope that you do regret it!). Its xmas and it has never been rite to make up a stupid lie to ur wife. You did it, you have to be responsible with it.
Are you an alcoholic or you just want to drink badly and you dont have enough money for it?
If the answer is the 1st one-join AA group. If the answer is the 2nd one;means that you have to start thinking what will your kids feel if they know their daddy exchange the presents for beer?

tell her you are going to an AA meeting (you need to!) cause you had to sell your own kids presents for beer money. If that is not a clear sign of alcoholism I don't know what is. Get yourself help IMMEDIATELY

I would tell her the truth and then i would go and seek help, I think you have a problem and its not worth it to lose a family because of the drinking. Alcholism is an illness and I am sure your wife will help you all the way. Try going to AA meetings. Good Luck and God Bless.

i dont like to judge anyone,but i think all of has to take a good look at our self's,you know that was a selfish thing to do ,and your the one that has to live with that,us as parents always feel guilty for one thing or another,i now kids can sometimes drive you drink.i think you should tell your wife the truth, but don't expect her to be over the moon .hope you have a good Christmas and new year xxx

Tell her she needs to get a better job so you can afford to buy beer and keep the kids in food, clothes, presents and drugs.
