Mine is getting a used bike for a gift from my mom & dad.it's not that they were poor,I think just cheap.I will never forget that.

We were all laying in the living room on Christmas day just watching movies. I was about 13 y/o. My aunt and uncle came by the house to drop off my cousin Becky. Her sister Jessica had got sick again and they were taking her to the hospital. She wasn't doing to hot. My 16 y/o cousin passed away on Christmas day. It still hurts.
Christmas since then ... well... means more to me because of family and not about the presents that we get.

Mine was the year that my mom and dad left us alone, to do some shopping or run errands, and my brother and sister found all our presents. Then they made me come downstairs to see them.
By the way, I did what your folks did to my daughter a few years back, not on purpose, I was just having a really, really bad year. I wasn't emotionally focused on what she needed or wanted.

Third grade. Teacher ask all of the kids to get up in front of the class and tell what they got for xmas. You can imagine the lists. One little boy stood up and said " I got a red truck" He was embarrassed. I have never forgot that. I don't care for xmas.

My cousin not getting any of her Christmas presents one year just because she peeked at them a few days before. It was a stupid rule that my parents and aunt/uncle had. We were all together and I felt so bad for her that I let her play with mine.
