Let me share my theory with you...

I don't think that Harry is a horcrux; but I believe his scar IS a horcrux.

In the last book, Dumbledore told Harry that when Voldemort came to his house and killed his parents, that he (Voldemort) was planning to make his final horcrux. I beleive he succeeded, and it's Harry's scar.

It explains why his scar is the only thing that hurts whenever he's around Voldemort; and why his scar hurts whenever Voldemort is in a bad mood. If Harry was the horcrux, HE would hurt; but it's only the scar.

I think I know how this is going to end. I see Harry finding all of the horcruxes except the final one. Throughout the book he'll never figure it out. And then at the end, he may figure it out, but incorrectly. I think he'll assume that he actually is the horcrux and will put himself in combat with Voldemort hoping that Voldemort will kill him as a means of destroying the final Horcrux.

I think the person who actually kills Voldemort will be Peter Pettigrew (repaying the Wizard's Debt). But that before he actually dies (thinking he'll be re-born because of his final horcrux) Voldemort will hurl the Avada curse at Harry. The bolt will hit Harry right in the scar. Thus -- Voldemort will, unbeknowst to himself, destroy his own horcrux, and thereby be the architect of his own doom.

Harry will be knocked out, but will live because the horcrux/scar will absorb the curse. But when Harry comes to, he'll dicover that his scar is missing from his forehead.

JRK said the last word in the novel would be scar. So maybe the last sentence would read something like...

"Harry felt his smooth forehead, and wondered what it would be like to go through the rest of his life without the "scar."

It's a theory. Hope it helps. Cheers, mate.

No, and here is why.

Why Harry is NOT a Horcrux.

First, we either know or have a pretty good idea of what the Horcruxes are.

1. DIARY - destroyed
2. RING - destroyed
3. Slytherin's LOCKET - unknown where & IF destroyed yet (I think it has)
4. Hufflepuff's CUP - unknown whereabouts
5. Nagini - wherever Voldie stashed her
6. Something of Ravenclaw's OR Gryffindor's - unknown What & Where

That leaves #6 as the big question. It has to be something of Rowena Ravenclaw’s or Godric Gryffindor’s. Harry could be Gryffindor’s heir or decendant, right?

Wrong.

Jo has confirmed that Harry is not the Gryffindor heir.

Let’s look at the rules of a Horcrux.

Rules of a Horcrux

1.Object must be collectible, as a trophy and chosen with some care
2. Object must have a powerful Magical history
3. Objects that, in themselves, have a certain grandeur

Well, Harry can fit two out of three. He fits more than Nagini. Okay. I give you that one, but we know from book six that it is very likely that Nagini was made a Horcrux almost out of desperation.

To get some more insight on Horcruxes, let’s see why Jo said the sorting hat (another popular Horcrux theory) is not a Horcrux.

Horcruxes do not draw attention to themselves by singing songs in front of large audiences."

Horcruxes do not call attention to themselves. Even though Harry does not call attention to himself, he has a lot of attention on him. I doubt he would make a good Horcrux.

We know that Voldy places a lot of store in a witch or wizard’s blood lines.

Harry is basically a half blood, and ol' Voldy wouldn't consider him good enough to hold a part of his soul.

There is more evidence to prove that Harry is not a Horcrux, than that he is one.

YES!! Harry Potter is one of the Horcruxes. When Voldemort killed his parents, and tried to kill harry, Lily's spell backfired on Voldemort. Voldemort knew he wasn't going to make it so he made harry into a horcrux... basically harry has to die or he can try to make a horcrux to save his own life or he might become a ghost for Hogwarts and teach Defense against the dark arts class... either way, Harry will probably die.

If consent was needed by a third party to create a horcruxes then it would make sense that Draco Malfoy is a candidate for the part since Lucius Malfoy is a devotee of Voldemort. That seems to be the obvious choice which gives it a low probability of being correct from a plot twist formula point of view.

Yes, although since it was not intentional, there may be a difference in Harry that is not in the others. Harry will be the last, of course, when he kills Voldemort.

Then Harry will have to live with the fact that he's got a part of the Dark Lord within him. Might make a whole new series out of that. Or there will be some explanation as to how Harry is purified. Maybe something to do with Ginny, since Rowlings seems to have accepted that her readers can handle almost any truth about magick. Sorry, "magic."

How? A part of his abilities got transferred to Harry when his AK spell failed. Horcruxes can only be left in inanimate objects because the presence of the other self like in Quirrel created a lot of interference and Voldemort could not really do what he wanted. Quirrel's thoughts clouded his own.
Wait and see what Rowling has in store.

Nope. Voldemort didn't know that he would be almost killed the night that he murdered Harry's parents. He didn't have time to perform the spell to make Harry a horcrux before he was zapped.

nah, because the prophecy says one must die for the other to survive right? If that Harry is the horcrux then Harry would have to die in order for Voldemort to die then the prophecy would be broken.
