YES, when your filling up the car because otherwise the gas spills all over the ground and doesn't get in the gas tank. Other then that, ther is no good reason not to close everything.

Jeffrey has said it best! the only other reason to leave the fuel door open is if you are repainting the vehicle and changing color, and have masked off the fuel cap itself. That way the whole fuel door will match!

the gas cap is there for a reason, why would you want to leave it open?

why dont u try running your car on water...

No because it could get ripped off accidently or hurt someone as you pass, you gas will also evaporate more quickly if it has air getting to it....its there for a reason keep it safe and closed.

No! The filler will collect water and dirt. If you leave the cap loose the check engine light willl come on.

No because it could get snapped off and is expensive to replace. The engineers took care of any ventalation issues. Also water could build up in there and get into you tank.
