I have a website with links and descriptions of different things including software, so is it legal for me to take a screenshot of the software and then post it on the website? I'm not talking about using any material from another website.

just to add about the taxpayers bit, I'm on a pension so I'm not actually one of them but it seemed a good statement either way.

I would be concerned about infringing copyright, if you want to use anything of anyones you really should ask, send an email to the owing company and ask them directly it takes the guess work out of it and protects you financially.

Yes, it's legal. Alot of people do it especially software review sites..
