Have the pup put down and take it to the local taxidermy shop. This will render it infinitely easier to wrap and much, much more economical to feed and care for. Sure, you will be unable to teach it to fetch slippers and the morning paper, but it will be a snap to potty train and you'll have no trouble with the neighbors complaining of incessant barking.

You didn't do much research before purchasing your dog did you? Christmas time is the worst time to bring a new Pet into your home, its stressful on the animal. And worse off, wrapping it up? C'mon would you wrap up a baby? Please. Someone said "poke holes in the paper" what about food and water?? Puppies need to eat and drink a certain amount several times a day and you can't tell me your going to unwrap the puppy to feed it and wrap him back up after.... Thats animal cruelty on your part. Have some common sense. Do you know how scared and stressed out that pup is going to be? I'd be surprised if you dont traumatize the poor thing. If you wanted to get your son a puppy you should have done some research and maybe bought it at a less exciting time of year.
Ps. I own a doberman who's 5 months old and I would never wrap him up.

Dont wrap him!! Put a bow on him and let him run around...you can even attach a nice little note or card somewhere so your son sees it! If you d'nt want your son to see the puppy until Christmas eve or day, then ask a friend to watch him until then.

well first off there is no way you can wrap it,it is a living and breathing thing.maybe what you can do is put a big huge bow on a cage and put the cage in a different room then lead him into the room with his eyes closed or you can just put a bow on the puppy itself nad give it to him when he is done unwrapping his other gifts,well whatever you do he his going to love it and he will definetly praise you for it.have a good christmas and a happy new year.

I would not suggest wrapping him, when I got the kids a bunny for Easter, I kept her in a box in my bedroom and when for a week, then on Easter morning while they were getting dressed I let her loose in the living room and said nothing, I gave them their baskets hunt for eggs and treasures that the Easter bunny left for them, one of them called out, mommy the Easter bunny is still here! It was so cute!
Do you self and the pup a favor, get your self a good book on how to raise puppies and children, I hate to think what kind of parent would try to wrap up a poor little puppy

Put him in a carrier (which son will need, anyway, to take him to the vet) and wrap the carrier. Fill the paper with small holes so he can breathe. Put a big bow on the top, and a large "Open First" sign.

don't wrap him. this is what my sister did for her kid. put the puppy in your bedroom and shut the door. let your son open all of his presents and say something like, "hold on, what's that noise?" then run to your room and grap the puppy. you can put a ribbon loosely around his neck and carry him to your son and say something like "look what santa left in my room for you!" or whatever. wrapping him is just dangerous.

Tie a cute red bow on it and keep it in your garage. On Christmas day, let him loose and carry him up stairs and open your sons door. Let the dog free and see what happens. I tried it once with my brother when he was younger. (5) it really works

Buy it a collar and put one of those cute ribbons on the collar~ [not tooo tiiight!]
Or like what someone above me said, Put it in a carrier and put a ribbon on it or wrap it~
But i advise you not to wrap it~ A simple ribbon would do~! ^^;
