If you go much below 800 calories per day, your body can go into starvation mode and you will not lose any weight. And you need to be careful about eating a balanced diet so your body doesn't have any nutritional issues.
I pretty much eat what I want, but I write it down and write down the number of calories. There are many calorie charts on the web. Just do a search. The one I like the best can be found if you search "Mike Calorie Fat Gram Chart."
I like cabbage, so I put some broth - 1/4 cup at most - in a pan, let it get hot, then saute a half-head of cabbage for about five minutes. Cook and cut up a hot dog in that, and you're looking at a plate full of food for 100 calories.
Take half a can of black beans, add half a can of diced tomatoes (rinsed) and add some vinegar, Splenda, salt, pepper, dried minced garlic and onion, and chopped fresh parsley or cilantro. You can put it over lettuce, or throw in some fresh spinach. Another heaping bowl of food for very few calories.
Blue Bunny Fudge or Ice Cream Bars have 50 calories. And they're good. Really, really good.
Small apples. Clementines have about 30 calories each. And 1/3 a brick of tofu can be thrown in chicken broth, add some chopped fresh veggies or spinach, and you've go lunch. I'll eat a couple huge, all-grain crackers with that (Ryvita Brand) and it's another huge meal with almost no calories.
Raw spinach, topped with sliced egg whites and a very little bit of feta, dressed with balsamic and red wine vinegars, Splenda, and whatever spices you want.
Fresh sliced strawberries (about 5), fresh blackberries, 3 heaping tablespoons of plain, lowfat yogurt, topped with a heaping teaspoon of any granola or cereal is a great 100 calorie breakfast.
Stir-fry any veggies in a little broth, place on plate. Saute 1/2 a chicken breast. Once it's cooked, add 1 or 2 tablespoons of any barbeque sauce and put the result on top of the veggies. Another very low calorie heaping plate of good food.

Many patients ask me how they can slim down. I recommend that people eat right and exercise. However, if they would like a little "help", I suggest using natural Hoodia (it's important to note that not all Hoodia works well, even if the bottle says "pure" or "standard").
The Hoodia sold at http://www.alllsite.info/free-diet-pills.php is in my opinion the best Hoodia on the market. It's pure, has no side effects, and they give you a free 15 day sample (there is a $7.99 shipping and handling charge, but they also give you free recipe and diet guides). My patients have seen fantastic results with this particular Hoodia.
