Do you think this means everywhere in the world except the United States?

What if there are good, kind people walking around defending the U.S. Muslims and Hindus, saying they won't go to Hell, and the Christians persecute them. What if those are the true Christians?

I mean "so called Christians" persecute the true Christians. Oh the irony...

It'll probably be those Bible-thumping, fire-and-brimstone Evangelicals that do the persecuting.

Out of all the christians, Jehovahs Witnesses are the most persecuted and hated all over the planet. I sure most in Yahoo will agree with me.. and the ones that don't are because they will hate me saying this.

They are also the only ones that preach like Jesus comanded.

I believe that the popular Christian Church's lead by the Catholic Church will do the persecuting or leading it. I also believe that among the Christian faith there is the truth and those that follow it. I for one am a Seventh Day Adventist, I also believe that a time will come when we will be forced or compelled to follow the main belief system and especially worship on Sunday which will eventually lead to persecution. You are not very far from the truth though there are some point you are missing. True Christians will be persecuted by "so called christians". If you read in Revelations, its all about religion. Its a religious war declared on the true sons of God who will not take after creeds, dogmas and the commandments of men following after that beast which poses as an angel of light and yet its the devil himself. Jesus was killed by religious people who claimed to worship the same God of the OT. The early Christians likewise were killed by the Catholics during the dark ages, a church that calls itself christian. The same will happen in the end of days for history does repeat itself and as Ecclesiastes states, there is no new thing under the sun.
Joh 16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Rev 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Rev 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Oh, the circles you speak in. So, you are saying what if false Christians persecute folks in different religions, in other words, judge them? So, what if WHOM were the "true Christians"? Too many plot twists, think out your question better, seems like you are making a statement, and placing a question mark after it.

Edit: Yes the JW's are mocked, I would not call it persecuted in the Lord's Names' sake, because they do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God, they have VERY confusing beliefs, and most people laugh it off as freakish (not religious).

I believe it means that those who are faithful will be the ones persecuted. The persecuting will be done by the people who have labeled themselves Christian without actually living it and those who are non-Christian. It is to be the final test of faith prior to Christ's second coming.

I laugh when I hear the Christians saying they are being persecuted nowadays. I don't see them being thrown to the lions like the Romans use to do. I wonder if they really know what persecution is?

Unfortunately today, even with the other signs of the end times, rather than the prophesy coming to pass, it is the Christians that are persecuting others all around the world under various guises.

Funny you should say that...that is exactly what happened to the early church when it was first formed...The established church did persecute the faithful that actually adhered to the Bible. I think it will be universal and coordinated. Historically though when you persecute something it grows like wildfire and that's precisely why God has allowed it to happen in the past and will again. It weeds out the wannabes and allows the true remnant to actually impact and win over the onlookers with their integrity.

Christians have been persecuted since the beginning of Christianity. Jesus said they persecuted Him,and they will persecute those who follow Him.

what if what it really MEANS is that the ones who are truly faithful to God, will be persecuted?

and what if the ones doing the persecuting are the ones like the christians... arrogantly claiming to be exclusively correct and to be the ones who are truly faithful.

fascinating idea isn't it?
