ok whats the deal, was she caught drinking underage and expirementing with drugs? Or did she hawk the crown for beer and coke money? I dont understand what the big deal is, if she is doing the same thing as 99% of all 20 year olds have done, harmless expirementing then why is she going to re-hab with the hope of recovery. Or is the truth really that she was showing up with a double snoot-full and powder on her nose?

check around the fact that you are making a positive difference in your life by not expirementing with drugs and or alcohol is excellent, but sadly you are the exception to the rule, and a Sheriff's Deputy in a city of 40,000 people with a liberal arts university and a military college, 2 exclusive private schools, I can tell you this my 99% guess may be high, but it isnt that high.
and do you as a teen look up to miss USA? growing up did you ever say "when I grow up I want to be MISS USA? in fact other than when the media wants to tell the bad news have you ever kept up with what MISS USA is actually doing all year, or do you just tune in for the pageant?

On a side note: since she was drinking at various nightclubs around town, should those clubs be fined and lose their liquor license for serving alcohol to underage people? New York law states that a person may not sell alcohol to a person under age 21.
The news reports have clearly identified where and when she was drinking- did she have a fake ID or should those bars be shut down? The Algonquin Hotel's Blue Bar on W. 44th St., and the Chelsea club Ultra on Dec. 8th are two.
Since when is snorting coke "harmless experimenting"?

I figured all of these pageants were pretty much the same..turns out they're not.
Re: Miss America and Miss USA... the two pageants are markedly different.
In case anyone wants to know the difference:
Miss America actually stays busy all year doing speeches, talking about her platform, and performing her talent. She also has a constant adult travel companion.
Miss USA lives in a New York City apartment with Miss Universe and little supervision. There is no talent category or scholarship aspect of the Miss USA pageant.
Apparently, the Miss America group has standards, while the Miss USA people do not.
Miss USA is just a way for Trump to scout around for his next wife.

As we all know and are aware, some of the accusations given to Tara Miss USA 2006, were false. How ever she did violate alot of Rules that were given to her. And missed some apperances since she said she felt sick, but in fact it was nothing but hang overs. The Miss Universe Organization and Donald Trump gave Miss USA another chance, since she is now a role model and can give more than she can ever give. And also Why let some one go and probably get more ruin when you can help her, and let her be an example to America, that alcoholism and drug addiction can be cure in the US

Being that Donald owns her and everything to do about her right now, he could have done anything he wanted to. The choices were simple for him, either keep her and show you are a nice guy who gives second chances to anyone who will at least try to make them self better. OR. Fire her ***, sending her back to her little mullet wearing town where she would be disgraced, probably continue drinking and cocaine use, end up overweight and continually pregnant working at the local wal-mart and married to some guy same Billy Bob Buddy Joe Jenkins. (If there is a guy by that name in that town, lol, sorry bout that.) I figure she is a good looking lady who screwed up, nothing bout her past said she was a screw up, so why not give her a second chance. In doing so Donald made himself look like a savior.

Trump wants to move ihto the Playboy mansion when Heffner croaks, and he is developing a replacement harem to take with him. The old cover girls still hanging out there would not make Trump's ego rise a nanoinch and they would be terminated without an iota of the consideration aMiss USA winner gets. Whinny babish starved "blond" bimbos is who he wants to watch play queen on the Trump (hill) bump. They will all be forever secure if they each convey to him continiously throughout the day that his hair looks really really great, even after his last strand dies.

She is supposed to be a role model and she KNEW that. When you're a Miss USA or a Miss anything, you don't go around doing that kind of nonsense.
You are wrong with your ridiculous statistics. I'm only 18 and I have never touched drugs or alcohol or even cigarettes.

When you win MISS USA....ITS A JOB. You sign a contract and you follow the rules...
Do you drink on the job? Do you use drugs on the job? She is making money from having this title...she is networking and meeting highly important people that someday can help her achieve her goals. She did make a mistake...but I do not agree that she is like every young American....I know many many young people including myself that never drank underage and much less experiment with drugs.

I don't see what the controversy is. She is "MISS AMERICA" doing exactly what most American kids her age are doing, Partying and blowing off steam. If she showed up drunk on while giving a speech then it might be a problem. Good grief the girl has to have some down time doesn't she?
