they are alone and have an experience that changes their perception on life. (certain drugs or other forms of enlightenment)

Having experienced it, yes. Just make sure you're both on the same page before you start.

I am not talking about spirituality here as interpreted by the religous, but as the inner soul and the essence of our being. i think to answer your question, it would have to depend on each person's interpretation and perception of the life altering event and would depend on just how deep does their river of self spiritual knowledge run to begin with. Will each person now seek to enhance their seeking of spiritual knowledge after the fact of this event? Seperately as well as in union? so as to understand better the meaning in their lives of if not WHY this event took place but what it can mean individually and together as far as growth and peace within and of course in their relationship to with each other and the outer world

How about having a child? That is a major life changing event that brings most couples (who are loving and caring individuals) closer together.

Drugs arent a form of enlightenment. If anything drugs would retard the couple's perception of each other's needs.

I think that it would.Especially if you had a good experience. If you both experienced this alone you really have a special something that only the two of you know from the heart.
