The worst pies are those that are sold lukewarm. Don't buy pies from Michel Patisserie Stockland Mall, Wetherill Park after 3pm. Being a chain store, you would think staff are trained to always keep pies at safe temperature ie. 65deg.C.

Two occasions I was given limpy lukewarm pies. First time I threw it away thinking it was my bad luck. The second time was more recently. It was again lukewarm. CSRs just want to pack up and go. Then don't sell any pies at that time of the day!

This time I was not about to be taken for a ride again. I went back to the store 3 minutes after I walked away and bit into it, asked for a refund for the beef mushroom pie. The CSR offered to heat up the pie in the microwave!

I told her the pie was kept in an incorrect holding temperature and that heating up the pie won't help as bateria could have multiplied in that pie.

She looked annoyed and returned me $2.90 instead of $3.20 for the cost of the pie. I asked why less than what I paid for. She got disgusted and shoved 30cts more towards me and sarcastically greeted me - "HAVE a merry christmas and happy new year!" It was meant to be the opposite. She didn't bother to greet me when I first went up to buy that sick pie!

I won't buy another pastry from that Wetherill Park store ever. I urged everyone never to buy pies (or mince) when they are not held at a safe temperature.

The right way is to apologise and learn from it. My complain is feedback for their own food safety handling responsibility.

When I told this to my friends, 3 of my friends said it happened to them before at the same store. But they never went back and told them, THEY JUST DON'T RETURN TO MICHEL PATISSERIES AT STOCKLAND WETHERILL PARK!

I used to work at a nasty dive bar/ restaurant and actually both my best and worst pie experiences were there. The owner's mom made homemade pie that we sold for dessert. Now my best pie experience was her homemade pumpkin cheesecake- every year for the holidays she made it and it was amazing with the graham cracker crust and a layer of cheesecake and then a layer of pumkin (fresh not from a can) and the top was this amazing whipped cream stuff!! I used to order my dozen in like August (I only ate 1 or 2 myself!!:)
My worst pie experience was a banana cream pie at the same place- normally the banana cream was awsome but sometimes the manager would let the pies sit in the cooler long past their prime, but that's neither here nor there because I don't know if this pie was old or fresh- in fact I didn't know it was banana cream pie. The reason I couldn't distinguish the banana cream pie for wht it was??? It was pink. Yes pink. The whole thing. I had no clue what kind of pie it was but since my fave color is pink I was excited to try it and sell it. So I got myself a big old piece and took a big old bite and as soon as it was in my mouth I knew it was banana but I also knew that something was really wrong with it. I immediately spit it out and looked back at the cooler and saw that indeed the cherry bomb (a cherry bomb is a marischino cherry that has been sitting in vodka for like ever and when you serve it you light it on fire) juice (vodka) was empty. The cherries were still there but the juice was gone- someone had cracked the jar and put it back in the coller above the pie and like a pint of like 4 year old nasty vodka had slowly dripped out and seeped sompletely through the banana cream pie. Imagine fake cherry flavored old nasty vodka soaked banana cream pie- it had the texture of really bad tiramisu only there was the added gooeyness of the bananas- I feel sick just thinking about it.

My grandmother once flirted with a pie that I always thought was the nastiest thing I'd ever seen.

She called it "Dream Pie" and it was made with cherries and bananas,and other ingredients that were plopped into a pie shell and served cold.

It looked like a giant pinkish Amoeba lying there.

My uncle seemed to love it, so she made it every Dang Thanksgiving for a while...

I did. It was a New receipe for a vinegar pie and it was soooo bad. The kids tried it out on their baby brother but even he worldnt eat it... or the dogs..lol. No more vinegar pie for us..lol
