In the US, the system is based on the acquisition of information.
They are NOT the same thing. As in the UK, you need to think to have knowledge. In the USA you need a good memory to repeat material in exams.

The system in the US is much more structured and prone to trying to indoctrinate you to a particular form of political view point the UK on the other hand is more free thinking and objective in their approach to education in the US masters programs are 2-3 years and in the UK 2 years study there.
