Global Warming.
Have you ever sat out in the sun all day, apart from the risk of skin cancer or blisters what harm has it done you, none.
Now take an electric iron, can you bring it up to heat, then place your hand on it for 30 seconds without serious burns, no.
Every day there are millions of such appliances being sold across the world, without the damage caused to the environment in producing these appliances, or the power consumed in making or using them?
The world’s population is said to be 6,500,000,000. Billion if every one in the world was to use just one 3000kw appliance ( the average home has 20 such appliances,)that would equate to 19,500,000,000,000. kw of power being used, which is about three times the heat of the sun, looked at another way, there are enough wireless telephones or mobile telephones round the world, being charged up every day to generate the heat of the sun.
Look back 50 years and see what you have done to the worlds environment in the name of progress, you will see that no matter what Tony Blair on David Cameron tells you, they will do to combat global warming they are giving you futile lies.

no home has a 3000kw appliance !! Your maths is flawed to the factor of 1000 !!

3000kw equals 3000000 watts, which at 240volts would be 12,500amps. your local electric company might notice!!

You could save some electric by not using your computer??

Well...... Overlooking the obvious fact that you don't know the difference between energy, power, heat, or the size of the average household appliance.... And that you generally don't seem to know your αss from a hole in the ground..... I really have to agree with Legend.

This one is even better than the ones about '2+2=5?', 'If I turn on headlights of car at speed of light?', 'What is too equation if not x = 3?', 'How I can make machine to travel in Time?', 'When shut off switch where light goes?', and all the ones about the Big Bang, Evolution, Cosmology, and the existence (or not) of God, pyramids and faces on Mars, and Space Aliens all wrapped up together.

But the guy who asked if a tinfoil hat would protect him from nuclear war *is* running you a good, tight second ☺

Oh.... And as far as what I, personally, am doing towards Global Warming? Every year on Earth Day I burn a couple dozen tires and dump several cases of Freon (-real- Freon, the original CFC, which you can still buy in Mexico) into the atmosphere ☺

i do no longer use public transportation. it quite is far too frightening... i've got been attacked at the same time as waiting at a bus lead to the past, so I do nonetheless have a automobile whch does not quite help our environment, nonetheless I do carpool so it quite is not so undesirable. I attempt once I can to coach off home equipment and additionally use fluorescent bulbs. in line with an answer above, you will get a fluorescent bulb for a dollar and that they final way longer than established easy bulbs... it quite is not that vast of a deal. regardless of what you may think of approximately worldwide warming we nonetheless ought to repair some issues that manage our environment. basically through fact automobile emissions are not inflicting worldwide warming does not propose they are good. Smog continues to be a huge undertaking and is a significant well being difficulty for those in larger cities. right here in Riverside County we've the worst smog interior the country! (i will breathe greater handy once I pass to la). So i think my significant difficulty with people is that we ought to guard our young ones now (My daughter is at severe threat of arising bronchial asthma) somewhat of bickering approximately who's good or incorrect approximately worldwide warming. and don't even tell me the smog right this is organic, do exactly no longer.

I am starting a campaign to prevent any and all celebrities from talking about politics, morals, the environment or global warming as the amount of hot air they spew forth in their ignorance is the single greatest cause of global warming.

The UN has just declared bovine flatulence to be the major cause of global warming. So I eat all the beef that I can. I give leather gifts too.

I think 3,000watts or 3 kilowatts was intended, and I doubt many households have twenty items of that capacity. On top of that most houses have more than one occupant, and many homes especially in Africa have no electricity.

Mankind has little impact on the environment, and it is sheer arrogance to even think otherwise. We are only just coming out of the mini ice-age.

Hhmmm...Global Warming.....Not something that I have been or want to encourage my children (or anyone else for that matter) to do. We have been making changes in our home for years....Educating children and adults of the consquences of damaging the environment they live in and encouraging them to do the right thing. Recently our family bought a hybrid car...this was another step towards our goal to be fossil fuel free.

Hello,

I try very hard to walk litely on the earth. I have been privilaged to talk with several native american indians who's whole life philosophy is about how to live in balance & harmony with the earth (Lahkota Souixe) except humans seem to have got themselves increasingly out of balance and as a result the planet is slowing also going out of balance, hence the slow inevitable drift into global warming caused by man and our actions.

**What have I been doing, No.1) I lived for sometime in a shared house in London way back in the early 1980's and we were recycling as many things as we could even then before any of the green movement had ever been heard of!! No.2) We had solar panels on out house and used to have scoulding hot water for washing etc in mid summer.

No.3 I still try to walk the talk (not just talk the talk!!). I've been recycling my papers, glass, tins, shoes, plastic bags for about 20years now.

**Frankly Carbon Trading is a complete and utter waste of time and money, its just a load of govenment smoke & mirrors which allows big companies & airlines to carry on polluting the atmosphere whilst sounding as if they are really doing something to save the planet!! (utter rubbish!!).

Carbon Trading WONT reduce carbon emmissions one jott in my opinion why? because governments, companies and people dont want to change their actual pollutiing behaviour, their life styles one bit. And my rather sad view is that nobody will until its far far to late. It might already be far to late already but trueth is nobody knows! not even the scientists.

KEEP WALKING LITELY ON THE EARTH!!
