I work at a large corporation and consequently my boss has received a large volume of Business Christmas cards. They are such a waste! We have a recycling effort at work but I wondered whether there were any particular groups that collect old Xmas cards for charity?

I'm not sure about the whole "collecting Christmas cards for charity" thing, but..
I have a kooky Grandma who makes these weird "X-mas Collages" out of old cards.. Or she'll cut part of the picture off the fronts of old cards, and turn them into gift tags.

Just something to think about next time you're bored at work, and see those cards laying around everywhere..

visit your local coulcil website and there should be advice in the recycling section. Lots of supermarkets and large shops have christmas card recycling points for charities.

Otherwise it is a good idea to reuse the cards as gift tags for example. In the future opting to send e-cards is an environmentally friendly alternative and saves money too :-)

You could donate them to a local primary school. They re-use them next Xmas to make there own cards for parents.

You can cut them in half, or just cut the pictures out from the front and then stick them onto presents as a gift tag.

You could take your cards to any mainland WHSmith store, TESCO supermarket (including selected Express stores) and TK Maxx stores.
