My cats wont come to me if I call them. Unless they want to. And I hate walking around going " Here puss puss " or calling their names over and over again. So I taught them to come to me when I whistle. Everyone I know thinks this is weird is it? I also had a cat when I was a teenager that responded to whistles so I thought it was normal.

I dont mind if that they dont come if I call them cause they know it means I just want to pat them, and Myrtai dosnt like being patted she will come and pat you when she wants to. Otherwise she wont let you touch her. They come to the whistle cause they know its home time.

Mine do too. I have 4 whom I have trained to come to a whistle or me calling "Come on, let's go!" and clapping, as if they are dogs. I've had dogs all my life, so this was a natural thing to do. All I need to do is clap, whistle, and call, just once, and they come fast. I live next to a farm (lots of mice and other prey to play with), so they don't come home at the same rate, but it all happens within 5 minutes of my call.

My cat comes running when I whistle in high pitches. She has an Elmo toy that plays a high pitched song and I'll whistle that tune and she'll come and want to be loved and petted. She'll come to any high pitched whistle though. She also plays fetch! My boyfriend's cat is like yours. She'll only come when she wants to. She's very good at obviously ignoring everyone until she's ready to get attention. She does come running when we shake the treat can. She loves her treats! Try that with your cats.

Well, I guess it is, cause my sister's cat comes ONLY when she whistles for her....I died laughing when I saw it for the first time! I think that's pretty amazing that a cat will come when whistled for.

Mine comes if I snap my fingers. All my cats have. I only have one now. I didn't realize cats came to whistles as well.

I have tips that I know will bring the cats to me. One is to shake their whiskas temptations bag which they love. Another thing is to tap a can on the table cause then they think they are going to get fed their wet food. Or sometimes I will say "treats".

They do this because u've trained them like this. its normal because they respond to ur whistles just like a cat responds when u call its name or when u make a particular sound.

they will come to you IF there is a reason. If you call them and give them something to eat everytime you call them, they will come to you .
