The number of times one eats food depends upon the climate of the country, the age of the person, the nature of work or in other words how many calories are being burned all these count. Normally for good health for a person below 20 would be 3 times a day and a good 8 hours sleep in the night. In the modern days of today we eat lot of junk food which restricts our proper eating and also spoils our digestion. Hence the best would be waking up at 6 am finishing the nature call then doing YOGA for 15 minutes and drinking 1 cup of milk. Breakfast at 8 - 8.30 am lunch at 12.30 - 1 pm and dinner at 8 pm and go to sleep at 10 pm. This would give good health and you will stay young & active until very old age. All the best.

The old phrase three square meals comes to mind.
English added 2 tea brakes with cookies or biscuits.
Americans added night caps for young children at bed time, usually milk and cookies.
In 60s and 70s the decease of the era was Ulcers due to stress so, people started eating smaller meals but more times a day.
So now it is your choice, as many time as you care to eat keep calorie count to your body style and activity level, eat healthy foods, drink gallon of liquid mainly water.
