a while back on a religious program the mother of murder victim claimed to be highly religious. She claimed to be strong in the absence of her beloved son. When asked how she felt about the circumstances, she said "god giveth and god taketh away" she went on to say that god chose to take her son to be with him. She then continued to talk and said " she blames the government and Tony Blair for not doing more to prevent her sons death.

My question is; how many other of you religious types believe that Tony Blair has the power over God and can stop god doing what 'He' wants?

This is just silly , no human can have an "over power on God".

No man has power over God. God has everything in control. It is rather unfortunate that this thing happened and bad things are happening everyday. This is all due to the time we are living in. These are the end times and woes are upon the earth and its inhabitants.
Mat 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Mat 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Judgements are upon the earth because of the sins of men. The earth is traviling in birth pains to bring forth a new civalisation.
Rev 8:13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!
These are troublous times

Unfortunately Tony (blah blah blah) Blair thinks he is God! Another unfortunate aspect of this is that, once he goes (please hurry up) we are left with another load of pretenders to God's crown..........Oh! Dear!!!!!!

God is supposed to be an almighty, all seeing and tolerant entity! We have Blair and Brown...........where are my suicide pills?

You all know what is going to happen..........Labour will be kicked out of power and then it will take the Tories another ten years to put the finances of this country back in order.......and we all end up paying.....AGAIN!!!

Only difference being is that we will have another God in tory guise to run the country...........Oh! Well, at least we will will find out where all our taxes have gone under Blair and Brown......oh! yeah!....forgot, all our taxes are going on funding John Two Jags Prescotts fuel bills and houses and lunches and snooze holes and garden parties.........................and coming up with more ways to get ordinary folk of the road so that the politicians can have the roads to themselves and NOT pay for ANY of the fuel they use..........

There you have it, a cynics view of God............anyone in a position of power that accepts responsibility for changing life of the underlings and lower beings.

Blimey....Blair must be God then!

awesome salute.
at first i thought you were saluting tony blair, in protest, against taxes.

of course Tony Blair has power but with men ONLY. if he has done unrighteously, he will be judged. if there is truth in reincarnation he might get justice by being reincarnated as an iranian boy who get bombed and still gets to have to reincarnate again and again and suffer justice after justice.

One mans justice is another mans judgment.

i know of the lady you spreak about and hadnt thought about this before
but this sounds very contradicting ...
who was it ... God or the government that took her son ?
she seems to say both
but blames one and not the other

to be honest
in times of war
i feel many are taken before their time .... i do not think God would be happy about this at all

Leader are appointed by God. We may think that we elect them, but in reality they serve with God's permission; therefore, they cannot act except on God's authority. No one has the power to supersede God's authority. Satan tried and look what it got him. God will remove rebellious leaders and he will use people to do so.

Did she say this because her son died in the war.

That maybe be the reason she said that.
But it still not Tony"s fault.

Matthew 18: 7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
