Not at all necessary, simply a matter of what you're comfortable with. Same thing with leg hair, or pubic hair.
Many women in countries other than the USA don't shave at all, and it's not considered unclean or distasteful.
I know quite a few straight guys here who are completely shaved below the neck because their gf's like it, but I can't say that I really relate to it, or understand it's appeal.

No, just keep it clean. Soap, water and deodorant is all one needs. Neither girls nor boys need to shave to be clean. If anything you leave yourself more vulnerable to irritation and infection by shaving. The hair is there for a reason, to protect you from said infection. Besides you would have to be pretty yucky to get a fungal infection under your arm. (Taking mushrooms to your armpit instead of deodorant. j/k.) I think the person who mention this was thinking about yeast infections which are common in the lower regions and don't have anything to do with your pubic hair. Boys or girls, it's a personal choice.

Of course it is not necessary. It may be a good idea to do it though, it you have bothering body odor. But if hairy armpits do not bother you or anyone around you - why should you? Maybe you don't even have that much hair there. Many blond (or even not so blond) people are not that hairy.

Yes definitely. If you sweat alot and suffer from Body Odour you should shave your armpits irrespective if you are a man or woman. Tip: Use a disposable razor.

Not for us but sake of others, we should shave armpits at regular basis, as it gives bad smell.

No.
It is a personal choice of maintaining body hygiene. Some people stay bad smell free by just washing with soap and water.
In some cases it does not work well so they have to shave.
Some people cannot save they get skin irritation.

no it's not necessary. humans were made with armpit hair and pubic hair to help absorb odors, that's why we have them.......personally i think it's gross for women to have armpit hair but it's a matter of personal choice I'd say

It's not necessary, but it's a matter of hygiene. If you are female and don't shave then its not clean. The arm pit is a prime location for a fungal infection. Also it is a big turn off to American men. If you want a boyfriend I suggest you shave. If you are a guy you don't need to shave, but keep it clean. Deodorant/Antiperspirant is required.

If you are male. No. However you have to keep very clean because if you dont, your sweat will smell.
For women, you dont HAVE to shave, it just doesnt look very nice if you are wearing something strappless or spagetti strap and there is hair from under your arms sticking out.
