I am 21. On chat i found it amazing to log in as a girl. I got many good friends through IRC chat. I have come across a girl whom I like very much and it seems she is the right type of friend I could have. The problem is how can I tell her that the person with whom she is talking is not a girl but a boy and is interested in her?

Well Dear friend you have to tell her the truth and tell her that u had done this to get friends but now u have come to know about ur mistake and apologize her and tell her to remain as a friend with you and pass some time with her if u can't meet her chat more time on net as possible tell her that u are a good person and from good family u just want to be her friend but as she becomes friends with you TAKE THE CHANCE AND TELL HER YOUR INTEREST IN HER I M SURE SHE WILL NOT DECLINE YOU.

I've reversed my gender and believe me it can be exciting. Just the act of doing something that allows you to understand at least a small part of being a woman is pleasurable.
Now telling her? You could do this two ways and they probably aren't the best.
A: Act like the brother of your alternate idenity. Set it up where you want her to meet 'your brother.'
But that's still going the same way of deception. It's best to tell her straight out. But try to soften it as much as possible, perhaps you could tell her you were experimenting with the idea and that you didn't expect to meet someone you liked soo much and now that you do you want to try a real friendship with her as a guy.

Three solutions:
-Tell her then. She would probably feel very offended bcuz u lied to her to know a lot about her.
- Login as a guy and start wooing her. This method may not work at all and takes a lot of time and effort.
- Keep ur mouth( or ur hand) shut and dun say a word.

Although this might lead to a whole lot of problems, like she hating you, not believing you anymore to stop talking to you. But i think the best way to go forward is be very frank and explain her the whole situation. I'm sure she will understand.

You'll just have to tell her flat out, and the sooner the better.
I'd say there's a better than 50% chance she won't want to talk with you anymore, however, since what you did was dishonest and misrepresentation.
Just remember the old expression: 'Oh what complicated webs we we've when we try to deceive'. (or something like that)

Why don't you tell her about your friend (actually you) and how you guys should meet. This way, you can still be in contact with her as a girl (knowing her secrets) and get hooked up with her as a boy (which you are).

well at least you are honest... sort of. I think about 1/3 of the people on these things are the opposite gender! have fun sis err? dude.... As a woman I feel enough elation just getting to vent without fear!

Talk about becoming trapped in a lie...
You either come clean, or have the girl you introduce the boy you to her. I vote for #1.

Mention about you being a boy and let her cope with it first. When she is relaxed, you can tell that you are interested in her too.
