i went out with this girl last year only for a couple of months, she dumped in october last year, anyway she has a new bf of 12 months now....but this year she has messaged me four times and the last time she was saying that she thinks about me, going into the past when i was with her plus saying that she wants to catch up but it wouldnt be appropriate....whats your opinion?!?

She has managed to message you whenever she missed you.She missed you when her new bf wasnt around or whenever he hurt her.Thats when we tend to remember or miss our past love.If she really wanna catch up with you she will put all efforts in breaking up with her bf and come to you.But she didnt.
Chances are good that she may catch up with you if her relationship doesnt work with him.You dont wanna be a second option,do you?

my opinion is that she probably is having mixed feelings about you and the guy she is dating now. it looks like she is trying to familiarize herself with you again, by texting you and asking to catch up with you. this shows that she is still interested in you, whether as a friend or a boyfriend i am not too sure. so just catch up with her anyway, but be sure not to get in the way of her and her boyfriend's relationship or else your name will acquire a black mark. only if she breaks up with her boyfriend or he with her then is it safe to want to be romantically involved with her.
