One should never imagine that having a child will improve their level of happiness. One needs to be a happy, well rounded personality to raise a healthy child. I don't think you can compare it quite like that.

Good question. Obviously I've been a mum and not been a mum. I have been both happy and unhappy in both circumstances but in essence I think I'm happier now then before I had children. I was floating through life with no meaning and was a bit 'lost' but after becoming a mother, my children give new meaning and I see a happy future for us as a family. So I guess maybe I'm happier now.

There are so many factors involved ... while yes i love my children they are my life , its bloody hard work doing it on your own ... doing absolutely everything takes its toll on u ... sometimes it can take the joy out of motherhood...
but then something is said or done which makes it all worthwhile....
have to say tho its nice getting away for a few hours , a day , a weekend and not being a mum for that short period of time... it means i am me again not someones mother but me .....

if they could bottle the feeling and sell it then people without kids would understand why all parents are the way we are ....

it all depends if your ready to be a mom. being a mom is not just carrying the child and living happy ever after its 16 years of hard work, also if your ready to look after someone who cant do nothing for themselves for the first year and teaching the rights and wrongs of the world plus you still have to look after yourself. i have got 2 teenagers who have left home but it is still hard as they have emotional issues and you are always there for them day and night. so you are never free of your children. so it is best if you are ready... the saying is they brake your arms when they are small and your hearts when then they grow and its true, so does being a mom make you happier than not being a mom ???? for me it was a yes............ but with the wrong man.

being a mum is not really that kind of thing, i mean it is to make you feel better it is give yet another person a chance to live grow and become someone, i think this is a very selfish question and would not suggest you have children until you realize life isn't about you

My children are now 20 and 16 and I have never regretted being a mum, best thing I ever did infact. The love, the joy, the tears, the whole package.............would do it again tomorrow. They make me so proud, give and take, get on so well together and I have been truly blessed. I love being a mum.

i think that it depends on if you want them or not. also how old you are. if you are only young then there is still some things in life that you need to see and feel before settling down with children. whereas if you have already done that then i think it is a mirical when children are made and they are brough into the world. all the love that they get given and all the care they need is amazing. But if you are ready then yes i think that children will make you happier because it is something you want!

Everyone is different. First of all you have to be happy in yourself and in your relationship before you take that step. You cannot have a baby to try and make yourself feel better or to improve a relationship. Even the strongest of relationships has troubles when a new baby is brought into the equation. You give your child the gift of life of course it is an amazing experience if brought about under the right circumstances.

You are a mum for life! As well as joy, there can be testing times which may bring unhappiness especially if they are sick or when they are teenagers. Happiness comes from within, children should not to be brought into the world to create your happiness, but mums will do your upmost to secure theirs.
