Why do people get on yahoo answers and ask questions like " what type of tattoo should i get?" or "Where should i put it?" Ok i might have the wrong feeling about this but I don't think you should have to ask someone else who you don't know personally about what type or where your gonna put it! You should have that for yourself. I picked out my own tattoo I went to the tattoo parlor myself and got it done! I waited until i was 20 to get my first tattoo so I knew what i wanted and i wasn't gonna change it anytime soon! I like all of mine ( i have 3) just how i have them. It was a great experience for me and other people should do it that way instead of letting your freinds or absolute strangers tell you what to do as far as picking a tattoo! The only advice I give is how to take care of it and how to do the research on tattoo artist! Does anyone understand how I feel?!?!?!?!?!?

I think that there is nothing wrong with getting ideas from the general population. I guarantee you that someone else has the same basic tattoo you have, or another tattoo in the same place. Do you design all your own clothes? Your car? Your house? Those are lasting decisions as well, and something you most likely chose on your own eventually, but I bet you got some input from experts before you made the choice. What could be wrong with getting advice from people who know more about a subject than you do? Isn't that the point of "answers" anyway?

i get what you're saying and i don't know why people ask what they should get because that really is something that only the person can decide but sometimes other people have other creative ideas. also people who are experienced with tattoos may have good ideas about placement for certain tattoos. some things don't look as good in some places as they could at others. i get why people ask those questions. i hate it when people ask how much a tattoo will cost. THAT is annoying. literally nobody but the artist can tell how much it'll be.

i know what you mean cause all that the yahoo answers on skin and body do contain tattoos. i feel that it has no relation to 'skin and body' answers, nor beauty and style. sure tattoos are a body assesory, but to display where they want them should really be there own decision, not the publics, but who am i to say, its a question with no solid answers, just teens being teens, and adivce is what they need so we give it to them and its either they take it or leave it and change there minds
the tattoo questions do get boring after seeing almost the same questions in a row but what ya gonna do
i dont like it either, but there just singal minded people i guess

I competely understand. My boyfriend is a tattoo artist and I help out around the shop occasionally..and people that ask "what should I get" AHHHH! Why come into a tattoo shop if you don't know what you want. And please! Have a brain to think for your self! It's your body!

i agree with you to an extent but, i do think most people are asking advice because they are simply looking for inspiration, maybe even wanting acceptance, maybe they are really unsure of what they want and want to know what the majority thinks,
and some may just be young and immature.

I understand, tattoo's are extremely personal and something you shouldn't do when you're drunk or a mate tells you to get one. I have two that I love!!

I couldn't agree more. If you have to ask what to get, where to put it, and whether or not you should, then you are probably not ready for the tattoo. The design and location are very personal things. You shouldn't get one just to fit in with what's popular, or let others pick it for you. It's your body, and you are the one who will have to see it every day.
