Im 20 yr old boy, 170cm and 89kg (Obese?) and im not a smoker

I had a stinging pain on my left chest under the breast few days ago, and when i press hardly the area around left breast it hurts
I went to the doctor 2 days ago and he said it was heartburn (Duno if this is the correct medical noun, it is something like there is air inside your body)
gave me medicine that is of similar type to mylanta

Now it is getting better, the my it does not hurt that bad anymore and sometimes it is not hurting at all but i still get slight pain i think inside. just a very light one

Plus i thikn the when i press it the pain moves from one place to another. now it hurts abit when i press hard my left ribs.

I have let the air out of my stomach many times. Is the doctor's analysis correct? cause i ve never had heartburn that hurts around my chest :o

and how long does it take to heal? because today is the 3rd day and i can still feel some air inside me

And is there any way to get the air completely out of my body?

Is it true that if the pain that you get from pressing your chest moves from one place to another (it hurts now, but it does not hurt later or the pain moved to other place)

and is it normal to have a stinging pain when you are having heartburn??

The fact that it hurts when you press on it indicates it's not being caused by a heart ailment. You can't give yourself heart pain by pressing on the outside of your body.

Stinging pain in the chest is one of the major symptoms of heartburn.

It is quite unusual for a 20 year-old to experience heart problems. However, if you think it'll put your mind at ease, you can ask your doctor to perform an EKG.

I know it may be hard to do, but first you need to RELAX! Now go to the kitchen and take 2 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass with 2 ounces of water. If you don't have apple cider vinegar, just use what kind of vinegar on hand. Two hours later, eat a cup of pineapples and drink the juice. Stay away from spicey foods for awhile. This is the greatest method to get rid of heartburns and indigestion. If it helps, do it again few hours later. If the pain doesn't lessen, you might want to see another doctor and have an x-ray done. Because you might have a pulled muscle. I've had two pulled muscles in my chest and like you I thought I was having a heart attack. But x-rays confirmed that I had injured a muscle and painkillers were prescribed to help as the muscle healed itself. So be careful about lifting, pushing and pulling things for a few weeks. And remember to RELAX!-Tense muscles hurt worse!

I have asked a doctor before and have fequently heard this answer when you are having a heart attack you most likely will not be able to pin point exactly where the pain is. Also, you may feel a heaveniss or tightness feeling as if someone was sitting on your chest. You may alson experenice diffucult breathing or swallowing: nausea or vomiting: and light headness and dizziness and sudden weakness and extreme anziety and or rapid heart beat. For example, you will know the pain is in your chest but not a certain spot. Also most people who have heart attacks have other things that hurt. Commonly your jaws, your arms going numb or having pain in them, etc. Hope I could help.

Not a heart attack and not heartburn.. If it was heartburn it would be burning like heck, coming up from your stomach and into your chest and throat.

It sounds like you pulled a breast bone muscle. I have done it a few times and it hurts! Actually it is where the breast bone pulls apart and it will take a few weeks to a couple of months to get better.

With heartburn and a heart attack, pushing on the breast bone would not cause pain.

I have done this before reaching for something. Actually a couple of times. And it does indeed scare the heck out of ya..

If you were suffering from heartburn or reflux you would get some relief by pressing under the right ribs but it sounds as though your problem is much higher than that so it might be worth reading what moonfairy has to say. Any bruising or damage to the ribs can be painful.

Please do not get paranoid, as you are mentally expecting your own conclusion. Psychologically the ailment is persisting as in your mind. To be on the safer side, go and get another check-up done from another doc. There must be too much gas in your stomach, and needs more time to clear, you control your diet and protect from gastro. In older people this kind of heartburn and excess gas causes heart attack! So beware, this kind of symptoms should be eradicated once and for all for a good health. Please take it seriously.
