I have frequent spells of 'dizziness' with the following symptoms:
I have cold hands and feet to the extent that they are painful.
I cannot focus my eyes
I become very thirsty
I get sudden attacks whereby I feel like an electric shock is running through my head (lasting no more than 3-4 seconds each time)
I have to grip things tightly and these attacks happen if i losen that grip.

I have seen doctors etc. but for some reason (probably idleness) my GP is reluctant to bother referring me. Have you got any suggestions of what on earth could be causing these attacks?

It sounds like cluster headaches, take a look at the web site below and it tells you a little about them.

The reason I know is because my dad suffered with the same problem.

See another Dr. You need to be refered to a specialist.
