good question, and one which hits right at the mark of the question of evil. Either god created evil (for his own malicious purpose) or there are two gods: a good god and an evil god. Christians say they believe in one god, but (especially the evangelicals) go on about the power of satan so much that they risk easily becoming gnostics in that they create a second deity for evil, just like the manichaeans did. So more fools them. Anyway, islam certainly teaches that god is a unity, and thus thier alternative? god must have created evil. For, 'there is no god but god, etc...'. The answer that god gave humans choice and free will and we chose evil does not let god off the hook, and i will tell you why. To have a choice one must have more than one alternative. In this case, the alternatives for humans are clear: choose god and good, or satan and evil. Simple, we have free will, right? Wrong. Because, it is said that the angels (including satan, or lucifer) also wer given the same choice. Now, when satan chose to rebel, he could notmhave chosen evil, because he hadn't decided to become evil yet...all he knew was god and good. So, the only way for satan to have a choice is for god to give him one, and create an alternative to good. Hence, god created evil and evil is a)not completely a result of satan (satan cannot create: if he could create he would be as powerful as god, which is unacceptable for a muslim or a christian) and b) not a result of human free will.
That demonstrates that god created evil...now to address the reason why. Why god (this is all theoretical by the way, i'm an atheist) would do anything is beyond me. Why would a perfect god create a universe in the forst place? A perfect being needs nothing but himself to be full. Anyway, I'll end it there with a quote from David Hume: 'why is there evil in the world if god is all powerful and all loving? Is god willing to stop evil but unable? Then he is impotent. Is he able to stop evil but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both willing and able? Then, whence evil?'

Of all the things God created, right from the smallest electron to the biggest Universe (or whatever) obey the Laws which God made for it. That is by its virtue of creation. But Man has been given the choice between True & False things. He has been given Intelligence to think and act. That is the only difference between man & other creatures. At the same time there will be a result for his actions. this justifies for the difference. If there is no result depending on the actions, then it is meaningless. But we Human believe in something called God, a super power above us. In short this life itself is a Test for our actions which will eventually lead to an Eternal Life after Death. Which all the world religions also accept.

- GOD creates that's just what he does. Now, with humans, you see, its like this, GOD is a gentleman, forced love is rape, God will never force him self on any one, HE is Holy. Now, forced obedience is slavery, there is no honor to the Master when a slave slaves he must, or else, he's a slave ! Now, GOD loves it when a human does an act of something nice, towords GOD, when he's not forced to, but because he wants to, cause he's in love with GOD, there also is great honor, pleasing in the sight of GOD, an act by a human done so twords HIM out of love. You see there's no LOVE in robots, slavery, rape, or obedience. There's only love in love, I tell you, this is why GOD gave Humans free choice to either honor Him & draw close in love, or be rebellious & have their god be their belly. You see ? It's all about the love story Brother . . .

To show His omnipotence.
Man, may appear rebellious at his greatest intelligence and greatest mobilization of force, cannot do anything against the Will of God.
Man would have great fear when the robots with artificial intelligence act against him. At that time he may pray God to show him the way out.

He didn't, and we are not. We are all doing exactly what God wants us to do, which is to live as we choose, believe as we choose, be who we choose, and experience everything there is to experience. Before he created us (the souls of us, that is), he was alone, and he knew intellectually of his magnificence, but he couldn't know it experientially, because you can't know what is unless you experience also what is not. You can't experience hot unless there is cold, you can't experience up without down, and so on. so God created us so that he could experience everything there is to experience, through us. Others, in books that I have read, for example, are able to explain it better than I can, but this is some of what I believe. Anyone who is interested, can just let me know, and I will Tell them what I think are the best books to read.

well theology points to it being matter of testing humans and if they are "good" according to god, despite human desires, then they are worthy of going to heaven. But then again, christianity also says that we are unworthy of grace but we recieve it anyways. regardless, we are not rebellious to god, that is to vague to say, we merely transgess actions/desires that are his arbitrary commands.

He desired a being willing to love Him. So he had to give us the freewill to not love him. Would want love from a being who had no choice but to love you? Then would it be real?
