According to one member's profile it did. I'm puzzled.... and would be interested in an explanation and to know what religion or faith this is.
thanks

Jesus said that no one will know the day nor the hour of his second coming. We're going to be caught by surprise, like a "thief in the night" this 2nd coming will be when you least expect it. So, no, the Catholic Bible doesn't predict the world would end in 1999.

Please... The so-called prophecies of the end have been present since pre-history. The sun turning to darkness and the moon turning to blood. Solar eclipses and dust storms maybe. Children having children, old.
Post stone age man who created religion had no concept of contempory science and such phenomena like earthquakes and volcanoes were falsely associated with the displeasure of God.
Moses offering burnt offerings of animals sounds cruel to me and more about superstition than spirituality.
Judgement day? Are we supposed to be so scared that we do end up paying our taxes to the church and state. That is what all that Hell and damnation was for to terrify the masses into accepting the rule of despots.
The real judgement is a personal one. Talk to a manic depressive or a victim of child abuse, battered wives and so on and ask whether that isn't Hell. Then talk to a contemplative type who meditates and ask whether they don't experience Heaven on Earth.
Get real. Heaven and Hell are psychological states here on Earth so make the most of this life and don't waste you time waiting to die to go to Heaven

The world will surely come to end some day soon as we see Bible prophecies being fulfilled. However the Bible can not end because it is the word of God. He said "Heaven and earth will pass away but my WORD will still remain"

The bible and its followers plus the other religions will end up in 2050 , we have to educate the next generation about the simple science. Because the dumb this generation is already spoiled.
