i had a 11 yr old pomerian dog who died 3 yrs back . the doctor said it was d age factor that she died . 3 DAYS BEFORE HER DEATH SHE WAS VERY SICK , SHE VOMITED , DINT EAT FOOD AND WATER . So i forcibly made hwr drink water through a 5ml syringe which is abt 2-3 spoons . The water went into her mouth with a pressure and speed , she started to cough and after 4 hrs in the night she died . Now i feel guilty that was it that the water went into her lungs that she died but at the same time i think how can just 2 spoons of water ie 5ml kill a dog , i dont think its possible . I wanted to save her and perhaps it was her sickness that killed her not the water . but i get so many doubts in my mind and am becoming burderened and depressed. pls tell me what to do

hey, you should not blame yourself... know what? it is what the devil wants you to think... that you are not a good pet owner...so what if your dog died? It's not gonna describe the whole YOU... the fact that you had a dog you cared for about 11 years... is a wow! A big WOW!! Know someone who can do it for 11 years? Thing is... you are just too attached to your dog... that's why you cant accept it when that time came that you two should separate ways... Let it go... i mean,,, free your dog and free also yourself..! Hope it helps!

Don't worry. You did the right thing. You loved her and tried yo help. She was old. It was her time. I highly doubt it was the water. thats not much at all. And thinking about how much water MY dog must inhale as he loves playing with it....cant be the water. remember the good times. Try not to dwell on the end. It wasnt your fault at all. She loved you and I am sure she was aware that you were trying to help her.

I hate this suggestion but... what about another dog? If you live alone and are without a furry companion it can get pretty lonely and you can get pretty lost in negative thoughts when you are lonely. I am not saying a replacement. You can never replace your pet as they all have their very own personalities. But it might help you move on. Dont second guess your skills as a dog parent. i would have done the same thing...actually i have done for quite a few rodents and birds..

It could of been the water, but still she was sick, and they had told you that she was dieing. You are giving yourself a guilt trip.
Which you need to quit doing, tha is just going to keep you depressed, and feeling guilty. They told you that she died from old age. So why give yourself a guilt trip. They said you could not help her. All you were trying to do was give her some water, casue an animal will died in three for days like a human with out water. So for give your self cause you will did not do anything wrong. You were just trying to give her a drink of water. And remember they told you she was dieing from old age, so that is proably what she did from.

Dude. She was just ready to go man. She was old, and thats why she didnt want any food or water or anything like that because dogs know when they are going to die. Dont feel guilty. You didnt know what you were doing and you were only scared. Maybe you kept her alive for a few minutes longer or couple hours, etc...but she was probably going to die anyway. :( The body will start to shut off, and thats why she was puking.

You were a loving pet owner to try so hard to take care of that dog. You should not feel any guilt at all. The dog was old and it was her time to go. She was lucky to have such a great person to care for her!
