Do alot of people have pain after a root canal?

It depends but on the worse case like which I had it should not be longer than 6 days

I have had a root canal treatment - it did not hurt at the time of operating - neither it hurt ever after. If your tooth hurts, it must be due to some other problem I guess.

I had no pain during or after a root canal.

it shouldnt really hurt as the whole point of root canal is to remove the nerve, basically. I suppose the surrounding bone may feel a little sore but nothing that should be bothering you at all.
i would go back to your dentist because this could be a bad RCT. hmmm. or get a new dentist.

depends how sensitive your gums are and how long you had pain before - i always have pain for at least a week after a root canal or anything - i find it takes ages to settle down but it will.

consult your dentist because when i had a root canal he gave me some medicies to eat for a day or two maximum and it did not hurt at all ......best of luck
