It is not naturally available and has to be generated. Storage batteries are the simple device for producing electrical energy and from there dry cells took over. Hydro-electric projects generate from water, by means of rotating a turbine. Similary from wind, wind turbines generate. Steam, diesel, petrol, exhaust gas or gas turbines, nuclear power are some other form of producing electricity.

I would suggest checking out this question posed on Yahoo Answers not too long ago.
You are not very specific, but I assume you are asking where the electricity you use in your home comes from. You could also be asking where does electric phenomena arise (where does electricity come from in general).
I have an answer in the link below that gives two How Stuff Works website links that are pretty good. Check them out since they are probably better than any conceptual explanation that any of us could give here. Oh and Wikipedia is good too as mentioned before if you are looking for a more technical explanation.

Although you can't tell when you plug your appliances into the wall outlet, there are huge differences among energy sources. Today, most electricity comes from fossil or nuclear fuels, forms of energy that are harmful to human health and the environment. But there are other, cleaner ways of producing power.
By harnessing wind, sunlight, plant matter, or heat from the Earth's core, we can produce electricity that is environmentally friendly.

electricity is made by a conductor cutting the lines of a magnetic field. if you were to take a piece of copper wire and make it into a loop and then take a horse shoe magnet and rotate the loop in the magnet then electricity would be produced. the voltage that is produced depends on the number of turns of the wire , the size of the magnet and the speed at which the wire is turned.this is the basics of how electricity is made

Energy is the main source of electricity...
there are many sources of energy... such as Solar(Sun), Hydro(Water)... etc.
it is converted to electricy by using a machine such as the turbine togenerate power.....
