Isnt there an ordinance law where you live to cut the loud music by 11pm?

Call the cops.

Unless you live in one of those places where the cops are more likely to start bashing you than dealing with the toxic carol player.

My neighbours have been playing what I would call "hate music", at deafening levels, and I've been thinking how nice it would be if some helpful aliens would carry out a small home invasion, wipe their CDs, and modify their sound equipment so that it can't play above about 50 dB. Trouble is, I don't think that is going to happen.

Christmas music may be nice this time of year, but no music sounds good through the wall. If it is loud enough for you to hear it would probably fall under a "disturbing the peace" ordinance with your city, even during the day. It definitely would at night. Apartment also complexes frequently have clauses in the rental agreement restricting loud music. If this is the case you might speak to the apartment manager.

If you feel comfortable approaching this person, just ask them nicely to turn it down.

If you have already tried that, or if you have reason to doubt your safety, have the police do it for you.

after a certain time you can call the police for noise pollution and they have to turn it off for that time frame , I do understand that x-mas carols are great but, not 24/7's! Poor thing I hope you find sleep with this piece of advice!

I hear ya, man...I have the same problem...I've contacted the neighbor who was doing this, and it was a good thing that I "knew" the neighbor, though, so it worked out. There had to be some kind of 'limit' and just because it's Christmas, it don't mean people around you have to 'over-kill' the joyous time of year (Stressful time for me...BUT)....I know that don't help you, none, considering you may not have any relations with the 'over-killing neighbor', but you can always bring it up with them, telling them that they are KILLLING CHRISTMAS!!! Don't be afraid to voice yourself man! Be true to being real....let them know, because if no one TELLS them, they won't know that they're pissing people off!! LOL...

I heard of a old guy who's neighbors were constantly playing loud music, he got a bunch of old satellite TV dishes and pointed them at there sliding glass door, as soon as the kids cranked the tunes the dishes reflected and focused the sound on the glass, shattering it. if you don't like that one just call the cops.

I just go over and ask my neighbor to turn it down. Sometimes he just leaves his door open and goes wondering around the complex so I close his door and it is quiet.

Ask him politely to turn them down when you are sleeping and if he doesn't do anything call the cops and report a noise disturbance

Give him a call and ask him if he wouldn't mind using earphones at night, or at least turning it WAY down since you can't sleep.

If he belligerently refuses, you tried to be nice and gave him a chance.... call the cops.

Is it me? I have music on outside but it's low. I would just ask the person to lower it. Ask with a smile on your face and be chipper. Attitude is everything.
