Hi! I have a wig salon and I use either a wig shampoo made for synthetic hair or Woolite to wash. Use a small amount and add to a basin. Let stand for 15 minutes and then swish around. Don't wring, scrub or treat harshly. Anything that you would wash delicate fabrics in you could use. I have also used plain hair shampoo and to get rid of thick debris I use dish soap. For conditioner you can also use wig conditioner (small amount) or regular hair conditioner or a drop of fabric softener in a bowl of lukewarm water. Only use lukewarm water because synthetic hair is a plastic. If you use a curling iron it will melt and ruin the hair piece. It's also like polyester so you may treat it like washing your intamate apparel. Don't brush with a regular brush. Only use a vent plastic brush and only after it the piece is blotted with a towel, (gently) then shook, and hung and dried. Leave in conditioners like "No more tears" works well also. The hair piece will usually spring back into it's curl unless excessive brushing. If you must curl the piece: After it is washed in lukewarm water, comb with a regular comb or wig brush and set it on rollers. When you are done, rinse for a minute in cold water and then leave to dry on a block, wig head or hook etc. When fully dried, gently comb or use a wig brush, but it is best to use your fingers to style. Good luck with your hair piece. They save alot of time and are so much fun to wear. See Ya!

Wet the wig in cool water and spray it with either Fantastic or Windex. (Do not use shampoo which would cause serious over-fluffing.) Work the Fantastic or Windex through the hair with your fingers, then rinse thoroughly.

Then untangle the hair. Use a hair conditioner, such as Clairol, or a liquid fabric softener, such as Downey. Rinse again. Now comb the hair with a pet hair brush. The metal tines of the pet brush better penetrate the hair mass and exert less destructive pressure on the wig base. Never use a hair brush that has been used on human hair. The brush will carry oils to the hair that will collect dirt and grime.
