tell the guy that says trade in to get a life. how many toyotas do owners do u see beside the road broke down. none .. Not a whole lot needed at 50,000 miles look in ur owners manual at the scheduled maintence section . or if u dint have and wanna be safe. just change oil filters, have trnsmissin serviced, have front end alignment , check all cv joints etc.. i am certain all is fine at only 50,000 u can take it to your local dealer and they will give it a good looking over etc.. Toyotas will out last any car /truck on the road, I love my toyotas. never a problem with anything also have friends with toyotas we all love them. Good luck,

We have a Corolla 2001. It went on two in a row 500 mi roadtrips 4 years ago without any maintenance. Just fill the gas and go. Make sure you have some cash for food or any unexpected stops.

Pretty much just a standard service:
- Oil & Filter Change

- check condition of belts, replace if necessary

- Check brake fluid, top up if necessary

- Check conditions of brake pads / disks / drums / pipes, replace if worn

- Top up Screenwash bottle. As it's winter, add methylated spirit to the mix to stop it freezing if not already using winter grade screenwash (assuming you live where winter conditions exist)

- Check levels of coolant system, top up if necessary, but patch any leaks first.

- Check levels of transmission fluid, top up if needed.

- Check condition of sparkplugs. Clean-up / replace any bad ones

- Check Tyre tread + pressures

- Check all the lights work (may need assistance if doing it yourself).

- Check airfilter, replace if necessary or clean out with compressed air if comparatively new.

Make sure your tires are properly inflated, check the tread depth, and make sure you've got gas in the tank.

Long trips are good for cars. Short trips do the most damage.
