It would depend on the subject. This is the link for visas.http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/passports-and-immigration/visas/
If it's on another issue, you'd need to search the website and follow the links to email or find the relevant telephone number.http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/contact-us

Is this an immigration case? Because of data protection you can only ask about your own case.

For Immigration telephone enquiries please contact the Immigration and Nationality Enquiry Bureau (INEB) on 0870 606 7766. If callers who are hard of hearing have access to a Minicom you can contact us on 0800 389 8289. Please note that we cannot provide verbal assistance on this line.

Our opening hours are Monday-Thursday 9-4.45 and on Friday from 9-4.30. It is often easier to get through later in the day.

Christmas and New Year opening times:
INEB will be closed on 25th, 26th and 27th December 2006 and on 1st January 2007.

Callers ringing this number will be able to choose between speaking to someone about their individual case or for general immigration advice. We are not able to give callers timescales for individual applications being processed by IND.

For Immigration application forms please ring 0870 241 0645. We are open between 9-4.45 Monday to Thursday or Friday from 9-4.30. Copies can also be downloaded by clicking here.

You should be aware that all calls to INEB are recorded for security and quality control purposes. We reserve the right to terminate calls if inappropriate language is used. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
