It's common, but controversial.

Some believe that the image itself, no matter how manipulated, is the artform, so anything goes for them. Removing fat from a model's arm, or drastically changing colors is no problem.

Others believe in capturing the spirit of the photograph. Perhaps the photographer didn't see something in the corner of the photograph, and had to clone it out after the fact. It doesn't change the vision that he saw when he took the picture.

Others are strict literalists. I'm closer to this group. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten an almost perfect picture. Simply photoshopping the picture to make it how you want cheapens the craft and pursuit of that ultimate photo.

In the end, you'll have to decide for yourself if you feel honest doing it.
