I'm 18 and I've got a nice sexy tummy before I got pregnant, now my tummy looks worse!! Full of very visible stretchmarks and I also got a scar due to C-section.
I just gave birth a month ago, and I'm planning to have a tattoo on my tummy.

1.Does it help?
2.How painfull could it be?
3.What design should I choose to make It look good? or give me an idea on what website should I go to look tattoo art for my tummy.
4.How much will it cost?
5.Should I do it?
6.Is there any other remedies for my problem?

stretch marks are somewhat of a scar, its harder to tattoo on. Get some coco butter lotion or get something from your doctor.

If you ever get pregnant again your tatoo will stretch.

get the tattoo else ware, uper sholder or lower back, ankle.

Tattoo artists if they are good will charge 100+ an hour so the bigger the tattoo the more it will cost plus you have to tip the artist because half of the cost goes to the shop owner

i don't think i would get a tattoo on your stomach after pregnancy, not unless i had gotten a tummy tuck. you can get a tattoo over stretch marks but if they are dark, they will most likely show. i'm not sure if your tattooer will tattoo on top of a c-section scar. are you planning on not having any more kids? because the likelihood is that the doctor will use the same scar next time and if you have a tattoo it will mess your tattoo up.

it sounds like you don't really know anything about tattooing and don't even have any clue what you want. you should definitely think about it more before you do this. also, it has only been a month since you gave birth. you should wait and see if your stomach will tighten up more.

You may want to wait at least 3 months for the scars and stretch marks to heal and then make your decision. They won't look as bad by then.
1.http://www.pbs.org/skinstories/stories/price.html This is a sight that I found about tattoos covering scars, or incorporating them around the scar in a very artistic way. Read Mary Lynn Price's story.
2.http://www.malutattoo.com/FAQ.htm This is a sight that I found that was made by a tattoo artist. Just click on the link and scroll down to "Does it Hurt?".
3. Remember to get something that you won't be embarrassed about in the future. I think you should get a tattoo that means something to you. A lot of people that have tattoos have a meaning to why they got the tattoo. My sister is planning on getting a big upper back tattoo of an angel and a dragon (maybe) a gargoyle together to show that good and evil coincide together. She partly got the idea off of a poster she has. Apparently that has a lot of meaning to her. I mean I think that it has a whole lot of meaning, but that isn't enough for me to get a tattoo of it, it's going to look pretty cool though.
4. Depends on the artist you go to. Most artists will charge by the size of the tattoo. I once interviewed a tattoo artist for a school project, he charged by the hour for tattoos, I foreget why.
5. That's up to you. I personally see tattoos as art, not at all trashy. You might want to wait on getting the tattoo untill you are done having kids, if you want any more. Here's a sight that shows a picture of a tattoo after a surgery .http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Tattoo_Incision_Damage scroll down a bit and you will see the before and after pictures.
6.http://www.plasticsurgery4u.com/procedure_folder/abdominoplasty/abdominoplasty_uk.html here's another option. The woman on the sight delivered twins by c-section and then got a tummy tuck to fix it.

I recently had a tattoo put over the stretch marks on my tummy, and it was not the most pleasent experience, but it actually halped hide them. My suggestion is to shop around for an artist with experience in covering up scars. I know mine has a book of scar cover ups that he has done, and most of them look pretty good. My whole opinion of scar cover up is that I would never want any of my scars to completely "go away" because they are reminders to myself of who I am and the things that I have been through, but the tattoos that I have gotten over them make them a little more beautiful!

use shay and cocoa butter to reduce the stretch marks. and be proud of your scar!! that's where your baby came into the world!!

now... here are the answers to your numbered sub-questions
1. it doesn't help much, unless it's something huge.
2. since there is no bone in the tummy, the pain will be very minimal. just make sure to eat a little something before you go, or you could end up getting dizzy or even sick.
3. something around the navel. i was thinking like a vine, but with little hearts for leaves. one leaf for each month of the pregnancy, to represent each stage of falling in love with the child before it came into the world.
4. depending on the size, it shouldn't be more than $160, unless you want more than one color. then maybe $180.
5. absolutely!! tattoos can be as important as scars. they can tell a story.
6. see above!!

I'm sorry, but if you have to ask, you are not ready. and the fact that your asking if you should get it, tells me this is just something your doing on a whim.

Don't do it. Tattoos are ugly, disgusting and body mutilation.
