My sister and her husband recently got married (last march), due to immigration problems here in Canada (but of course they love eachother). Shortly after their wedding my sister became pregnant with Gabriel, my nephew.
Since her husband cannot legally work here, they're all packing up and moving to the states. They've said that they would like to move back in a year to a year and a half, but now they don't really know when or if they actually will. This has been completely devastating to me and my family. My sister and I are best friends, and I don't know how I'm supposed to cope with losing her. I've always pictured us raising our children together and us being apart of eachothers life for the rest of our lives, but since her marriage and her their baby... all of this is slipping away from me. I just can't picture my life without having her physically present. How do people deal with this? What can I do to make this easier to cope with?

My daughter moved away when she was about 5 months pregnant because her hubby was in the military. It was so hard. I recommend you get a good long distance telephone plan or I got a cell phone for her that was on my plan so we could talk all we wanted too. Which by the way was alot!!!

Well unfortunately life hands us ups as well as downs. You should be greatful your in the era of computers, web cams and file sharing as well as instant messenger! Those are GREAT ways to keep in touch and still be there with out being there!
You will still be best friends and life will go on I promise you just have to climb over a few humps and travel more once or more a year! I know it's hard but it really could be worse. I wish you luck in dealing with this!

Distance will take your love for them to a very high level as it is now.
Let him go and live/enjoy their life.
Call him every week, visit him every month or year

emotionally detach yourself from the issue... and learn to let go and live on your own.
