My dogs love to be in the fresh air and lay in the sun so they spend quite a bit of time outdoors. Any time I leave I have to lock them up in a kennel because every time I come in to piles and puddles and by that time they don't know why they are being scolded. I am a stay at home mom with a 1-year-old son, so they still get lots of attention and when I leave it's usually not more than 20-30 mins. Even in that small time frame I find messes 95% of the time. I have 2 females, Pepper (5 years) and PJ (Pepper Junior( 2 years) momma and daughter, respectivley, if that helps any.

Is it submissive urination? It's common among female dogs. Sometimes they pee when they are frightened or under stress. Do you make a big deal about leaving, or do you simply put them in the crate and leave. When you make a big deal out of leaving, sometimes they get very stressed out and cry and or do other undesirable things.
I would keep putting them in the crate when you leave and give them a treat right before you walk out the door.
I would also suggest that you get the book Cesar's Way from Cesar Millan. It covers all sorts of crazy doggie behavior.

I might maintain her in a crate or tied TO YOU. Keeping her at your facet is a first-rate technique to inspire the bond she is constructing with you and can support in her obedience coaching as good. Put her on a agenda. I have no idea if her meals is to be had to her at all times of in case you feed her set foods, however the set foods might ordinarily support you and her recognise her rest room demands. Take her to a certain spot and inspire her to head there. I have learn (at the same time watching into elevating puppies for the seeing eye software) that a few folks even coach their puppies a command for going to the toilet. You would check out that - with compliment or treats for her successes. Keep up at the movements - taking her out each time you are taking her out of the crate, and after gambling, approximately 15 min to a million/two hour after consuming, earlier than returning her to the crate, and so on. If she will get compliment each time you trap her doing the 'proper factor' and a organization NO whilst you trap her doing the 'flawed factor' then she's going to attempt to please you. I am completely happy you detect she can have in no way found out this and are inclined to retrain her. Be sufferer. Be form. Be steady. You didn't point out a breed - additionally detect small puppies have very small bladders and have got to pass extra customarily. Best of good fortune!

You'd have to be home to house train them, so if they are having accidents when you are out of the house, by the time you return it is too late to correct them. If you are only gone for 20-30 minutes, that is not too long to put them in their kennels. I'd suggest letting them take a break in their kennels while you step out for a half hour, and when you are home increase their time in the house so you can catch them when they mess in the house.

A dog that spends the majority of her time outside peeing wherever it wants whenever it wants, is not much of a candidate for house training. To house train them effectively, it would be wise to keep them inside for longer periods, but take them out (on lead) every hour to the same spot. Praise them when they go.
When you catch one of them beginning to mess inside the house, immediately whisk her outside without hesitation (they can stop midstream), to the designated spot, so she can finish. Give LOTS of praise.

when did you get the dogs? They could just be marking their territory in the house. What you should do is when you are home and you catch them going in the house, scold them. When they go outside give them a lot of praise. And when i say "scold them" i mean you should say "no inside" in a firm voice, not yelling, and take them out to go.

Dachshunds are really REALLY stubborn dogs. They are hard to house train...period. Have you tried puppy pads? They are those pads that have a type of scent in them that make dogs want to go on them. Maybe you could try those...and gradually move them outside...so they know they are suppose to do it outside. And, reward them with hugs and kisses and treats whenever they do go outside. It will be hard since they are adults though. But, good luck!

Since you're not gone for long periods of time, kenneling is really your best option here... at least until you are confident they are trustworthy in your home unsupervised.

After seeing SO MANY comments, here and previous questions, I feel very fortunate that our Doxie came to us fully house trained from his breeder.

you can crate train them. Put them in the crate when you go out, if they can not get away from their messes, they will not do it.

Sorry, but at this age, it may be your only alternative.

one thing is to rub their face in it. not literally. just put their face up to it, spank them on the butt tell them "no" in a stern voice and put them outside. Also if you catch them in the act pick them and put the outside. If these do not work in a couple of weeks then it might just be your dog
