Something from the heart, something you think your wife deserves after giving birth to such a beautiful child. Just sit back and think on it, what do I want my wife to have that she doesn't have. I also agree with the spa, call around to some local spas and send her to an all day or half day, new mothers usually dont want to be away from the baby that long. So have her pampered she'll love it! Congrats by the way!

Something sentimental that can be kept to mark the occasion. Jewelry is always appropriate but it should have a meaning or represent something. For example, the circle of life necklace could represent the birth and life of your child. It is so wonderful that you would think about something like this. Another priceless gift you could give her is all the help she could use so that she can rest after giving birth. Diaper changing, feeding, night patrol, etc...

My father gave my mother a beautiful strand of pearls that now have been passed down to me when I had my son. I think something she can have one her and pass down is meaningful to everyone. It's a family tradition in my family. When my oldest has a child, she will get them. Pick something from your heart, you know your wife, what does she cherish, time with you and the baby, family photo you could put in a locket, or a clip of the baby's hair in a locket, a ring, flowers, what is HER passion, we don't know her, you do. Follow your heart and you can't go wrong.

The best gift is loving the child that she gave birth to and support, prayer(if u have a religion),peace and helping with the baby is not a bad gift you should also try giving her a spa retreat,a "your the best mom" award/trophy,jewelry,etc.

BUT what counts is if it from your heart

Cuddle, Do all you can to take of that baby and let her know you are doing it. Cuddle some more. Do the dishes, wash the clothes, to a real women that is true love and you reap the benifeits. Love comes maybe twice in a life time, and the first time might be the only time.

An eternity ring, if you did not give her one for your first wedding anniversary. It has to match her wedding band and engagement ring as the three are worn together. A necklace, earings or bracelet. Jewelry is safe option, what women does not like jewelry! My other suggestion is a photo shoot for both of you and the baby. Congrats!!!

support...give her lots of support and once in awhile give her time to sleep, being a new mom is hard and the worst thing for a mom is loosing sleep.so if you can once a week let her sleep while you take care of the baby,if the baby is breast fed, tell her to express milk for the baby while you take care of the baby.It is nicest thing you can do and you will have time to bond with your baby.Oh, and also do some housework,we surely appreciate husbands who helps around.
