I was curious because the body wash says it is "soap free". What exactly does that mean?

Dove soap and wash are different. However, ingredients used are 80% similar with the exception 20% in which each individual (soap and wash) differs. Soap free means non-alcohol and perfume. Alcohol and perfume do give one dry skin.

Just to cut to the chase as they say..it has a lower percentage of alcohol in it..Body wash is more gentle on the skin, where a soap bar can dry it out, a body wash tends to have a moisturizer factor in it

I have used both. For normal to oily skin use the bar soap. If you are like me dry to over dry use the bottle. Hope this helps some.
