because their wires are exposed so im just curious about it.

whoa, wires exposed doesn't sound good. you should use a different one before you start a fire or electrocute someone.

They can be used until the bulb burns our or until their wires are exposed, which is the case with your light, so i would just go ahead and throw it out. Be careful since christmas lights can burn, shock, and also cause fires!

Do you mean the wires that are insulated or do you mean exposed metal wires.

If the metal is exposed toss

If you are talking about the green part (rubber or plastic I guess) insulation around the wires, until they burn out or until the metal is exposed.

Wires exposed=burnt down house.
Don't use them if they are that bad.
