One first has to make a decision. You must answer a very important question, and that question relates to your life. When joining the military, you are exchanging your life for the life of others. You are making a sworn agreement with the USA that you will die for the constitution of the USA, and that when told to do so, you will fight and/or protect others so that they may continue to live on, within that very constitution you defend, even though you will not. Be aware that the benefits of the Armed Forces are exceptional, if you survive and for your family should you perish. Once you have pondered this thought, weighed all advantages and disadvantages, ruled out any other options for your life, then you should make the decision before your closest friends and family, and wish for their support. For they will be making an even greater sacrifice; to possibly live on without you, which is a very difficult choice which they had little say in. Once you and everyone around you accepts their new role, I would have your father or a very wise Male role model take you to the recruiting center and make sure you clearly understand the paper work, then sign and savor the moment for you have made a nobel decision that I, and many others, were not brave enough to make.
May God bless you in your decision.
