Because I think I'm coming down with one, extreme headache and scratchy throat :-(

My first sign is a dull headache too, scratchy feeling in my throat, and irritability.. Same as your symptoms. I check my temperature and If I don't have a temperature, then I take Tylenol or ibuprofen and wait for the cold. I also take a lot of Vitamin C and Zinc. This will help a little. I usually don't get sniffles, because a cold usually goes straight to my sinuses.
It sounds like you are getting a cold, just rinse throat with warm salt water in a 6 oz glass of water, then gargle. You can purchase a nasal spray with salt water in it like Simply Saline. This will keep your sinuses and throat clear and help to reduce the symptoms. That is why doctors use saline solution on patients immediately following surgery and before the wound it closed. It prevents infection. Get yourself some Cepacol throat lozenges or Chloraseptic throat lozenges. This will ease the throat pain. If you get a fever, go to the doctor and have him rule out an infection or virus. They can do a CBC to find out. Don't postpone anything that comes with a sore throat, because you could develop a strep infection that would need antibiotics.
Hope this helps. Kinda broad I know, but depending on your symptoms tomorrow, if you can beat this without a tight chest or a really sore throat, you probably just have a common cold.

u probly are coming down with a cold. what i do, is the 1st signs, is start taking Zicam. zinc will help boost ur immune system, and get u going on ur feet in NO TIME! then if u do this, u should be better by Christmas. just make sure u take the Zicam oral mist. there is also a new product out its called Cold MD. ive havent tried it yet, but its just a bunch of pills u have to take. i was reading the directions, and the 1st day of symtoms u have to take like 6 a day or somthin like that. if u dont mind doin that, then i say go for the Cold MD, but if u dont want to do that, then i say go for the Zicam oral mist, ive tried that stuff when i 1st got sympotms, they were gone the next day! Sneezing and runny nose r my first symptoms of a head cold. Unless u`ve received a flu shot, ur symptoms might be the start of the flu bug. But not to worry, unless u develop further symptoms, u should be able to enjoy Xmas, even with a common cold. Start taking aspirin or Tylenol and drink lots of OJ.

I just start feeling bad weak , tired, and then I start sneezing, sore throat, and then here come the sinus headaches. Then here comes the big c and then I feel like crap. Hope you are not sick for Christmas. Happy Holidays.

Runny nose, scratchy throat, tired feeling run down.Get more rest drink more fluid,water is best.Take vitamin C.Keep head warm like wear hat.Most of body heat is lost from body through the head.

Personally, I can feel it clear back in the back of my sinuses. For some reason I become hypersensitive to anything with a scent. I cannot even handle walking down the laundry detergent aisle in a store when I am first starting to get a cold.

these are usually mild complaints and may be managed by over the counter cold medications...

hii,the symptoms for commoncold are 1-little increase in body temp,headach,icting of throat,sizzing of nose,some times breathless ness also.there may or may not be running ofnose.it depends to the cause of the cold,may due to hot or due to cold.cold may be due to sudden change of climate.take care how simple its look but it may leads to blood vometing.
