and yes i know when i can take care of someone, and when i need to turn them away.

i know that on allot of cases i might have to tell them they need to see a medical doctor, not a faith healer.

so don't worry :)

Wiccan? Or just interested in herbal healing? The 2 are separate, but can go hand in hand. Many Wiccans are not too much into herbs, and most herbalists are not Wiccan. But no matter, there are a number of books out there dealing with herbs and their uses. Some on specific treatment of conditions and what herbs and.or drugs will interact with others and in what way. This is particularly important if you follow the rede as you would not want to cause harm by using, oh say St. John's Wort if someone has to take blood thinners. If you are interested in the Wiccan aspect you might try www.llewellyn.com for a list of assorted books on various subjects. Or go to amazon.com and search for herbal healing. 2 natural treatments which have little or no adverse reaction with other things are Aloe Vera (which is good for just about everything) and spider web. Spider web is antiseptic and will help cuts and abrasions heal more quickly.

Herbalists and Naturalist work with herbs and diet, but I have never known them as "good witches" Maybe I'm being old fashioned but I didn't think there was such a thing. I know the term "First do no harm" That is a part of the Hippocratic oath taken be doctors. My wife took that oath, But it had nothing to do with witches good or bad.

if you want to be a great herbalist I recommend the book by Tommy Bass from Alabama. Unfortunately I don;t know the name of it but his name should get you to it. It was first sold by Appalachian Herb Shop, Centre, AL .
I hope you are not serious about the witch thing. Tommy, a Christian would be so dissapointed. He believed, as I do that God provided for all of our needs thru nature. He has passed on. He was a great man.

American Folk Magic is a good one. Herbal uses are covered and folk healing is the focus.

You could try to become a shaman like the Celtic shamans. They are close to the spirit world and practice healing. Here's the link to the website: http://www.faeryshaman.org/
and the FAQ's page:http://www.faeryshaman.org/celtshafaq.htm#celt1

Many other paths exist besides these, just do what your heart tells you to do.

Yay Glenda!
Sry... I couldn't help it.
Just wanted to say kudos, and remember, you'll always be a good which as long as your heart and intentions are pure.
The first rule of magic is Do No Harm, and I believe it's because and evil you perform will come back to you threefold.
But you seem like a nice person.
Good luck and God bless.

You'd be better off going to the library and looking at herbalist books there
