I know you can use it on the plane...play games & music and stuff. No internet connection, correct?

The house I'm staying at has Internet connection--I'm not sure what. I have wireless DSL. How do I change my internet settings? And will they go back to normal when I return home?

Anything else I need to know?

Yes, you can use it on the plane after the plane reaches cruising altitude. There is no internet access on most planes, though I have heard rumors of some NorthWest flights offering satellite internet access. Probably this will be only in first class.

Be careful with your computer if you're sitting in coach class. Don't use the tray table because if the person in front of you leans back, the seat back will crack your laptop's screen! It happened to my husband.

How you change your internet settings will depend on what kind of internet the house has. If it's cable, you may need an ethernet cable to attach it to your laptop, so bring one along. If they have an airport so you can do wireless, then your laptop may automatically sense the new settings. You didn't say if you have Mac or Windows... they work very differently. How they change will depend on how you will need to reset them when you get back home.
Sorry I can't help much more, but Mac and Windows work differently with internet settings.
