I'm just curious how they have to do it, do they have them registered with their local Law enforcement agency or through the boxing commisions or what? And can they do more serious jail time than an ordinary citizen if they punch someone?

One more question, this is to any fighters out there. When you apply for a boxing licesnse, do you get an actual license with a photo iD that says you're a fighter? Like a driver's license says you're a driver.

That is not true. I am a professional fighter myself and the way it works is that you do have to get licensed through the athletic/boxing commission as a "professional fighter". Along with that licensing comes a new set of rules for you as a professional fighter which would more than likely in most cases make you at fault if you were to get into a street fight and hurt somebody. License would be stripped as well as jail time handed out.

That's not a bad idea. I know Tyson has flown off the handle plenty of times and punched out a few guys in bars. And don't forget he used to brag about punching his wife out and making her bounce off "all 4 walls" (Robyn Givens).

Sonny Liston used to say the only person that could beat him inside or outside the ring, any bar, or alley was his wife, Ernestine. But, he'd talk about she'd have to wait 'til he came home ripped and he'd get conked over the head with an iron skillet.

But, then again Riddick Bowe couldn't even make it through boot camp with the Marines, because he didn't like the DI screaming at him. He would have probably flown off the handle and punched out someone and killed 'em.

I'd have them registered with Lloyd's of London, too.

No a Pro Boxer does not need to register his hands with the law enforcemnet. Somebody was just messing with you and you took them serious.

No, fighters don't have to go to a police station to get their hands "registered". However, if somebody is a professionally trained fighter and they commit an assault, it can be classified as assault with a deadly weapon.

No, no one has to have their hands registered with police. Assault is assault, obviously the worse a beating you put on someone the more time you are likely to serve.

Dude, I wouldn't be surprised if they had to. I mean the power of Tyson's punch in his prime can kill someone easily. I have never heard of such thing though.
