Sorry, but in some people food can have everything to do with zits. My brother had cystic acne and horrible lumpy purple red pizza like skin all through his teens. He took antibiotics for years and used every over the counter and RX product he could get. When he went vegan in his mid 20's and stopped drinking a gallon of 4% milk a day, as he had since he was 12, his acne just went away. It cleared up completely in about a month. He had dermabrasion for the scars on his face, but they were too deep and it didn't help that much. A woman in my office had the same problem with milk, but not to that degree, as she drank much less of it. She would break out if she drank it, though. I've heard many people claim to have reactions to other foods.

I had mild acne for a while in my early teens, but the doctor said that it was hormonal, and related to my menstrual cycle. I just had to wait for it to go away, and it did by the time I was 15. To this day there are whole classes of medications that I can't take though, as I develop a rash on my face from them that looks just like acne.

In general, drinking lots of water and keeping your face clean at all times will help prevent breakouts. Natural facial masks, used regularly, will help keep the pores open and clean. There are herbal cleansing pads available also, for when you can't wash your face, they don't dry out the skin like the alcohol based ones.

When you do have a problem, write down everything that you ate in the last day or so, and see if you can find any food that keeps recurring just before a breakout. There are a lot of things that can cause it, and it's not always easy to find out what they are.
I've heard of allergy testing used, but only know one person who had it done. She was allergic to wheat and it made her break out.

Food has nothing to do with Acne or zits....but eating healthy will help your skin be better. Eating all your vitamins, Omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants will help your skin get all the nutrition it needs. Wash your face twice a day, use a toner and always moisturize with a non condemogenic moisturizer made for acne. Drink lots of water to flush the toxins out of your body.
Change your pillow case every week. Deap clean your skin once a week.
Microdermabrasion and Lasers also help.
Enjoy chocolate and and fries and lemons and any other food.
Make sure it's not Rosacea or something similar to acne cause you could just make it worse.

If you acne is bad don't even hesitate see your GP and get a referral to see a dermatologist, he will put you on medication and it will clear up the acne, you do not have to suffer this.

If you only have mild breakouts i recommend you drink 8 glasses of water a day.

This sounds really weird but there is a shampoo you can get at most salons called Nioxin. It is for hair loss and promotes hair growth by taking all of the toxins out or your hair and off your scalp to make a healthy environment for your hair to grow. This is a great facial cleanser (and it does not make hair on your face grow). I was hesitant to try it but as soon as I did my face started clearing up almost instantly. A small bottle is about $9.00 at a professional salon.

Be sure to wash your face before going to bed at night as well as after working out/sweating excessively. Use Noxema or another cleasner.

That said, exercise and regular activity can help you sweat out impurities that are in your skin. I knew a girl who went to India and she said she sweated terribly there, but her skin looked great.

It helps to use an exfoliator on your skin every other day or every other third day. This will help turn over your skin cell production and prevent skin flakes from clogging your pores.

You should wash your face on a daily basis, once in the morning and again before you go to bed. I really recommend using Proactiv Solution. It's worked wonders for me and i have pimples very rarely, about once every lunar eclipse or so. Proactiv Solution is a three-step acne treatment system launched in 1995, which was developed by dermatologists Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields. In North America, the product is sold mainly through infomercials and online, where buyers are automatically entered into a subscription business model. The Proactiv system sells for $39.95USD.

The Proactiv system is comprised of three different core products. All three steps are designed to work as a combination therapy for acne treatment, and are recommended to be used twice daily for best results.
Step 1: Cleanser:
The Proactiv cleanser is the first step in the system. The active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide. The cleanser has a coarse texture that is meant to exfoliate the skin.
Step 2: Toner:
The Proactiv toner is meant to hydrate the cleansed skin. It contains Witch Hazel, Dog Rose fruit extract, aloe vera leaf juice, allantoin and anthemis nobilis flower extract.
Step 3: Repairing Lotion:
The Proactiv repairing lotion also contains benzoyl peroxide. The dose is less than in the cleanser, and is left to dry on the skin to suppress bacteria build-up.
According to the company's website, Proactiv Solution was created to treat mild to moderate cases of acne and may not be effective for people with severe cases. Benzoyl peroxide, one of the main active ingredients, may cause dryness and peeling of the skin. Some individuals may experience allergic reactions such as redness, itching, hives and swelling. Benzoyl peroxide may also cause increased sensitivity to sunlight.

Celebrities are featured heavily in Proactiv informercials, recounting their true-life stories of using the product. They include:
* Kelly Clarkson
* Sean Combs (P.Diddy)
* Melissa Gilbert
* Delta Goodrem
* Alicia Keys
* Judith Light
* Lindsay Lohan
* Elle Macpherson
* Paulina Rubio
* Stephanie Seymour
* Brooke Shields
* Jessica Simpson
* Britney Spears
* Vanessa L. Williams
* Mackenzie Phillips

im not a skin expert but there are some small steps you can practice daily to avoid acne breakouts, which i do myself and i find effective..avoid stress...never overwash your face coz if you do, your skin becomes dry and so it tends to produce more oil..change your pillow cases often, as they are one of the things that frequently have long contacts to your face...avoid touching your face with your hands as they always catch germs from the things you touch, like getting contact with money or railings on public places..and lastly, always use cleansers/soaps that suits your skin type and you find to have good effects on your skin.if you have sensitive skin, use milder cleansers or soaps...if you have breakouts, dont poke it..instead, treat it with lemon/kalamansi-dipped cottonbuds or q-tips..they may be itchy ,so wash it a few min. later..and remember, dont touch..

There are many cheap and effective home remedies for acne. Tomato slices, turmeric, papaya juices and home made face packs will treat existing pimples and prevent further problems. More remedies at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html
