I know a vet could probably determine it, but I thought I'd post here first to see if it may be something simple and easy to fix. She's getting up there in age, around 15 yrs old, could it be senility?

Stop immediately!! Do not let your dog do this for it is bad,It can lead to Parvo which is a disease that they can get which can even lead to death. The reason he is doing this is vitamin and protein, call the vet or visit and tell him this so he can get the dog vitamins, they should not cost that much, then the rest is up to obedience.Make sure you discipline him every time he does this.

No - your dog MAY be senile, but even a puppy would eat the cat poop.

There is a lot of protein in cat poop. That doen't mean that it's healthy for your dog to eat it - it's a good way for your dog to contract parasites.

You need to keep the dog away from the litter box. I use a baby gate in the doorway to keep the dog out of the room where I keep the litter box.

Most dogs eat cat poop. I suggest buying bitter apple spray to stray around the litter box. Also try to keep ur dog away from the box. My brother's dog used to do this & he's a vet. If bitter apple spray doesn't work try using a spray water bottle & spray the dog when he goes near the litter box. Good Luck.

Theres nothing wrong and she isn't hungry, she just does that because for some reason, dogs like that kind of stuff! I'll never know why, but my 14 week old chow tries to that quite often so I moved the litter box a bit higher. Its their instinct. And her age isnt a factor, all dogs do it if they want to, no matter the age

nothing is wrong. Dogs like poo. But if your cat gets sick your dog will too. You must teach your og its wrong or it could start eating random dog poo off the street and you never know what kind of disease it will pick up. That is how the get parvo and that will kill your dog.

Your responsabilty as an owner is too keep your pets safe. Move the litter box.

Actually, this is fairly normal. Cat poo is like candy to dogs. You can go to the pet store and get a pill called Deter. That usually does the trick.

Dogs are disgusting creatures if you allow them to be. It's just their nature. The problem is...she has access to it. Is there anyway you can put a baby gate up to keep her out of the room? The cat will climb over it, the dog can't.

Nothing is wrong with your dog.

It is a completely natural occurance, some dogs do it, others don't.

Studies show that dogs show this behaviour from when they were with the litter with their mother. The mothers eat the puppies stools to keep the nest clean.
