Will a 9' dingi and a 15hp outboard make it to Ensenada?
My two friends are going to ensenada in their dads 9' dingi. They asked me to join them and I said yes. Can anyone share any advise on where to dock and how much fuel we should take? Also, will a hand held two way radio work to communicate with my family? My wife wants me to bring my 9 year old but I am worried he might get sea sick. Any advise will help. Also, how long will it take me traveling at full throttle?

The Pacific ocean isn't "pacific", storms come up all the time. A nine foot boat isn't sea worthy for a trip any longer than from the beach to a close by fishing ground. You would be nuts to take a child on such a fool's errand.

Well if you are leaving from San Francisco it will take awhile.

If you don't get picked up by border patrol or the Coast Guard ... I guess we'll read about you in the papers.

You should ask this in the 'stupid questions' section

It depends from where you are starting, but if it is anything except the other side of a duck pond I would be very worried.

Take anything you want to take that you aren't afraid to loose including your son's life not to mention your own.

PS: While you're at it......Take a side trip to Cuba. I hear it's nice there this time of year
