Well I just lost my 35 year old mom to Crohn's disease, found out that I have it myslef......Tylenol with Codene, or tylonol 3 works good. When purchasing anything with Codine in it you have to ask the pharmasist, as codine is a very powerful drug that people tend to abuse. You might want to be careful with it as some people may be allergic to it...so take a small amount and monitor youslef...if you seem fine then your not allergic. Tylenol 3 has to be through your doctor....Good Luck

That depends on the pain, and "better" is relevant.

Typically, ibruprophen (Advil, Motrin), asperin (bayer, anacin, or especially excedrin) work better than tylenol. Naproxim Sodium (aleve) can be pretty good, too.

The one drawback is that if you have bleeding problems or possible bleeding problems, you can't take it, and you're pretty must stuck with tylenol. All three of those choices (Aleve, asperin or advil) can cause your blood to thin, which allows a possible trickle of blood to start up if you have ulcers or something. After two days or so of that going on, you've lost enough blood to be in various stages of consciousness, have black tarry stools, pass out, and need to be admitted to the hospital for possible blood transfusions. Keep in mind, this is if you have a bleeding problem or ulcers, or you think you might.

Also, no over-the-counter pain reliever is incredibly effective against major pain, nor are they for long-term use. If they're ineffective, talk to your doctor about using something other than OTC.

Always read the box for warning labels, and ask your pharmacist or doctor if those are okay for you to take.

If you have had long-term pain, I'm going to assume you've talked to your doctor about fixing the problem, instead of just taking pain medicine to cover up the pain. If you haven't, you need to.

Feel better

I'm sorry!:( Ya know you have to experiment to see which one is best for your chemistry and ailments.

Only take light doses of aspirin to prevent strokes so throw that one out ok???

Tylenol is extremely used worldwide.

I hear great reviews about excedrin migraine for migraine sufferers. I used it satisfactory once.

Ibuprofen in the highest milligram I can find is usually what I take.Ibuprofen helps with pain from swelling. Try that one first.

Good luck, my heart goes out to you.

I just asked my pharmacist this question the other day. She said the strongest over the counter pain medication is Advil.

You probably need to stick with something like Motrin. This helps with inflammation. You need to consult a physician though, because long term use of any drug over the counter is not recommended.

well i usually use mefenamic acid (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) or paracetamol (antipyretic or anti analgesic drug) for any of my pain... consider though that you should not take mefanamic acid should you have any renal conditions or liver problems.
another thing is that ibuprofen still a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug could cause Gastrointestinal bleeding so be careful in using them.
So then in your case i would suggest not to rely on over the counter meds because these may have side effects. it would be wiser if you go to your doctor for any pain medication/s.

I think ibuprofen (ie. Advil) is recommended the most for body aches and pains... Is there another type of bike seat you could use that doesn't hurt as much?

You can safely OCCASSIONALLY take 2 Advil (for inflammation) with 2 Tylenol (for pain). The docs I worked with recommended it to their patients with joint pain.

i don't think advil is suitable cause it's probably for nasal sinuses pain so you may use antispasmodic therapy like antispasmine or riabal
