Can you think of a more convenient, easier, flat out cop-out answer than that? Nothing points out to some guy up there in the sky yet so many people have made up their mind already......
I'll be honest and say we don't know the answer to that question........yet. But we will .. just as we found out that Earth wasn't flat all along, just as we actually were able to go on the moon....
The world is only less than a 10000 years old?????OY

Evolutionary psychology and game theory tells us that the brain is geared for "fast and frugal" answers. The brain does not require the right answer, just the one that is good enough to keep the person alive in their environment. The God answer has been a good stop gap for keeping people from spending too much time in search of answers when their lives are requiring them to spend more time on other things. Notice how the role of God in the daily lives of the religious today has dimished from being involved in everything, to being limited to things that are difficult to teach in science class.

Because a person believes the bible, and believes that God created all things, that is a cop out? Does that mean anyone who has a different point of view than you, on any topic, is "copping out" by believing in something you do not? You don't see any proof for the bible being true? Okay. Doesn't mean it isn't.
Puzzling to me. It's very much like the pot calling the kettle black. You ridicule things you do not know or understand, just because others have a different perspective? If you don't have any answers for your own questions, okay. But isn't it sort of juvenile to make fun of those who have found answers, just because you don't happen to agree?

Wow, what a question! First of all, I don't assume that god is the answer to that question. God is the answer to that question. The bible clearly states in the book of gensis chapter 1 verse 1 that " In the beginning god created heaven and EARTH....."! Before man was even able to find out if the earth was flat or round, god had to create it just like he created you and I. What you need iss a little more faith and a little less facts. All the facts that human come up with is simply theoretical. No one fact is the proven answer, but I bet you have faith that it is right. You already have faith that the earth is round not flat. That's called faith my friend. Like I said you have faith in your answers and everyone else have faith in theirs. Maybe if the world had a little more faith in god, instead of having his name removed from the pledge of allegiance, there would be more peace and less war. Do me and yourself a favor...OPEN UP A BIBLE! When you speak, speak for yourself and not everyone else! You don't know the answer!

I'm not sure that we'll ever have a concrete answer to that question...maybe some things are just beyond the scope of scientific study since whatever evidence may have existed may now be destroyed.
Why do people assume God? If you think about it, a greater father/mother like being is what someone may come up with when they are trying to find an answer to the question when they aren't comfortable with the idea of not knowing the answer. Personally, I'm also happy with admitting ignorance of origins....there are a lot of things humanity can't provide answers for, that's just one of the bigger unanswered questions.

The earth is as old as the universe, and before the Big Bang theory, it's likely that the Universe was 40,000 times larger than it is today.
The age of the Universe can easily be 14 googolplex years to the hundredth power squared...
Explode, contract, explode, contract...
So, how could the earth only be 10,000 years old since the Universe could be that much older?

Because it its true.
From the time God created man He has been the inspiration for every good thing in the world.
It takes time for man to figure things out.
Sometimes free choice gives us hang-ups and the need to backtrack to discover the correct path, but still, God is the creator of all good things.

U ever heard the saying, if you believe in nothing, you're fall for everything. Same concept bigger scale. The majority of humans need to believe in something bigger than ourselves. I cannot say God does or does not exist. But would it not be interesting if we all had God in us, that with self-knowledge and self-enlightenment, anyone of us could attain that level....

Because humans are too dumb and can't imagine that maybe there is a totally different answer so they feel that MUST be it, though maybe the truth is one that we have not or are not even capable of thinking up.

Who is assuming? God is the Creator! He resides within every true believer and they know Him and He knows them. Sorry you don't have this. Sorry you can't know this truth, right now, anyway.
You certainly seem to believe everything you are told...good robot, good. As for me, I deal in facts. Only God can open your eyes and reveal truth....that is a fact.
*edit* yes, I am real and truthful and you are lost.
